The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Avianca’s LifeMiles program is currently offering a bonus of 145% when you purchase miles. This brings the price down to 1.35¢ per point

The Fine Print

  • Limit of 200,000 in point purchases
  • Valid through 12/30/18

Our Verdict

No minimum this time which is nice. You can also buy Avianca miles through a subscription service costing 1.39¢ per mile, this is a better deal than that. Personally I get enough miles through credit card sign up bonuses so I’d never purchase points at 1.35¢ but others might. I’d have a specific redemption in mind if purchasing points.

can you stack this with the 15% off benefit when purchasing miles that comes with the avianca card issued by banco popular?

that 15% off is actually for “multiple your miles”, not for “purchase miles”. You have to first earn their miles through flying or other ways before you can only use those mile to multiple.

Also as this is coded usually as travel or buying tickets from the airline’s official website, you could also earn more points like 5X MR, which also bring the costs down a bit.

I think the calculation of the subscription costs is wrong, it is actually 1.35 cents/point, the cheapest way of buying lifemiles I believe is through subscription, but it takes 12 months.
