[Targeted] Bank of America 65,000 Alaska Airlines Offer

The Offer

No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail. Subject line is ‘Exclusive: Up to 65,000 bonus mile offer for <name>.’

  • Bank of America is offering a bonus of up to 65,000 Alaska miles on the Alaska Airlines personal card. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • 40,000 bonus miles after spending $2,000 within the first three months
    • 25,000 bonus miles after spending $9,000 or more within the first six months

Card Details

Our Verdict

Previous best offer has been 40,000 miles + $100, that offer only requires $2,000 in spend. This is an extra 25,000 miles but without the statement credit and requires an extra $7,000 in spend within the first six months. I think some people will actually prefer the other offer, but if you value Alaska miles and can generate spend easily then this is a better option. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there is any chance of getting a public link for this one as you need to enter your first name, last name and e-mail address to see if you have the offer and it does check a database to ensure you were targeted.

Before applying for this or any other Bank of America card, I’d recommend reading this post detailing everything you should know about their credit cards.

Does the Biz version have this offer as well? And can you still transfer/use Alaska Miles for Iceland Air?

Got targeted. 65k for $8,000 total spend. Too bad I know 100% I won’t get approved due to a blemish in my credit history. Wish my wife would have gotten targeted instead we would have applied in a heart beat.

They give you Platinum Plus Visa is true, if credit line under $5000. But a different offer and annual fee is no longer the case, all the same now.

I got approved for BofA Alaska Visa Platinum recently.

I had this personal card previously; I think I closed it January 2018.

Last week I started to apply for the Alaska Business version, and a message popped up saying I was not eligible for a sign up bonus and asking whether I wanted to continue, which of course I did not. I thought I had read everything pertinent here, but did I miss a provision about not getting a bonus on business if you’ve had one on personal? (I’m BofA platinum, 820+; 4/24 overall, no new BofA since October 18, total of 3 B of A cards (although none of this seems relevant since I didn’t complete the application so I don’t know whether I would have been approved.)

Thanks in advance.

Way too much spend for that extra 25k unless you plan on MSing

Alaska Miles are worth quite a bit. The 65K in points can almost get you a one way first class ticket on one of their partner airlines. Usually 70k points. That’s easily $10,000+ in value. Totally worth it.

I got the offer of 40000 miles after $2000, and additional 25000 miles after total of $8000 spent within 6 months, not sure if they are the same as the one that you post out.
