[Targeted] Barclays American Airlines/JetBlue/Hawaiian Business Cardholders: Send $10k In Payments Via Plastiq & Get 20k Points, New Users

The Offer

  • Barclays is sending out targeted offers to some JetBlue, Hawaiian and American Airlines business cardholders offering them 20,000 points/miles when they use Plastiq to send $10,000 or more in payments. Unfortunately the deal is only available to new Plastiq customers.

The Fine Print

  • Valid on bill payment purchases from October 1st until December 31st, 2018
  • Plastiq sign up required using unique referral found in e-mail
  • New customers only

Our Verdict

You’d be paying a 2.5% fee, so your cost would be $250. You’d earn a total of 30,000 miles/points (20,000 plus the base rates of 1x). You come out slightly ahead but unfortunately I think most people that would be interested in this type of deal would already have a Plastiq account.

would it not be worth if you were chasing status with the airlines since for the AA card, you need to spend $25k to get 3000 EQD.
