Update 10/10/19: So it looks like only 1.5% back is posting, regardless of what offer you received. When contacted Capital One has told cardholders that the additional 2.5% will post within 1 to 2 statement cycles.
The Offer
No direct link to offer, sent out via e-mail. Unsure what the subject line is
- Capital One is offering some Savor cardholders 4% cash back on all purchases
The Fine Print
- Valid until December 31st, 2019
- Unsure if there is a cap
Our Verdict
Potentially a very good deal depending on if there is a cap and what that cap is.
Hat tip to coasterbill
A friend of mine is getting the 4% on all purchases. I and others that signed up for the card at the same time are not. I don’t understand how they can treat users of the same card differently. Am filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
My brother told me at the beginning of the week that the Savor was 4% on everything until the end of the year. I was confused because I didn’t hear about it. I have a grandfathered Savor and his isn’t grandfathered, so maybe that’s it?
I was NOT targeted for a special offer, but I’m getting 1.5% on non-bonus spend anyway.
I am curious, for those with the immediate postings: does your AF hit beyond the 2 billing periods after the promo is over?
The fine print says it will get credited in 2 billing cycles.
Has anyone received any retention offer for capital one savor? My anniversary is coming on January ,so I can’t cancel till the extra points post, looking for guidance.
It took few minutes on one call to get the annual fees waived off for me. They were pretty cool about it.
Great, thanks for the info!
My annual fee is gonna hit soon. My guess is that they use 4% to keep us. I usually get it waived for my venture card. Hope they would do the same for my Savor. I really like it so far.
I got targeted in Savor with fee.
3% on travel.
After that, you’ll earn the rewards you’re used to: 4% cash back on dining and entertainment, 2% at grocery stores, and 1% on all other purchases—just like you always have.*
I hope this doesn’t mean I don’t got 4% in dining and 2% grocery?
I am seeing 4% posting on all purchases so far, not 1.5% as mentioned in your updated post.
I was targeted, however, not all my purchases (ie. VGC counted as 1.5%) have been accounted as 4% cash back. Is anyone else facing this?
Was targeted on my Savor w/AF. Wonder if this has something to do with the survey I completed recently from CapOne. Got a $10 AZ gc for completing it too.
Subject line *****, enjoy 4% cash back on everything with Savor.
