I made around $264 in online purchases and earned 10x for the entire amount, even though the email stated it’s up to 2500 miles. Anyone else had such luck?

Does the following previously commented below by MisterBill help? “For my Rewards+ card, my offer says “Use your card to earn 10 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points,” The bonus is not 10x, it’s 9x because you get 1x by default. So you need to spend $277.77 t get the full bonus.” I am not 100% sure if Citi interprets it the same way, but I appreciate him trying to figure it out.

You’re right! Now that I’m looking closely at the fine prints, it says – “up to 2500 bonus miles”. Next time I’ll be more careful about Citi spending offers

I can confirm Geico definitely counts as online purchase.

The following might counts, some of them definitely do, but after much analysis i could not pin point what does and doesn’t.
Postmates

Almost positive postmates counted, not sure how they calculated the rest because it just doesn’t add up and I give up after spending way too much time on this already.

Hope that helps someone.

Does the transaction need to post by 4/30/20, or will you get the bonus as long as you make the purchase by 4/30/20??

I made a purchase at target.com on 4/12 and received 10% back when my statement closed yesterday. It appears on the statement as “Online Purchase Bonus”.

Good data point! I’m actually surprised the bonus posted so promptly… in my experience these kind of spend bonuses from Citi tend to post at least a full statement cycle after the end date of the promo.

I made a total of about $200 in puechases from Walmart.com and Amazon. My statement closed a few days ago and I did not get 10x. The terms say can take 1-2 statement cycles, but in my experience, this type of thing never goes beyond the next statement close.

Would this work on paying your taxes?

It works with the Bank of America Cash Rewards card. I’m sure it will work with this.

Right away I bought a $25 gift card at Costco.com to test it out. My statement closed yesterday, and I did get 250 miles for the purchase. So yes, it works!

10x miles with a cap of 2500 miles means the spend in $250, not $25 right? I’m referring to the sentence “Citi has sent out e-mails to a lot of cardholders offering 10x miles or points or 10% cash back on online purchases up to $25/2,500 miles/points.”

I got the offer and the email just lists the 2500 mile cap, it doesn’t convert it to a spend amount so I’m guessing that was just a typo here.

Some people get an offer for 10% bonus cashback, rather than points, with a cap of $25 (i.e., 2500 cents) on the *rewards*.
Either way it’s $250 *spend* to max out.

For my Rewards+ card, my offer says “Use your card to earn 10 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points,” The bonus is not 10x, it’s 9x because you get 1x by default. So you need to spend $277.77 t get the full bonus.

At least that’s how it worked on the 5x deal (with 4x bonus points). And it’s why the categories that would normally get 2x points do not qualify.
