[Targeted] Citi Sears (SYWR): Spending Offers For February – April

The Offer

  • Citi has sent out targeted spending bonuses on the Citi Sears card. These offers are for 2/1 through 3/31 or 4/30
    • 50,000 points for $1,500 spend on anything from 2/1 through 3/31.
    • 10% back on Home Improvement purchases or $800 each month, 2/1 through 4/30 up to $100 in monthly statement credits.

Our Verdict

This is why this is our #1 store card. Will also stack with the other offers that are good for 2025.

Wow, have never received so many great offers at once. Just unreal amounts of stacking.

  1. 12/31/24: $10/20 statement credit for $100/200 spending on gas, groceries, and restaurants per month through Dec 2025
  2. 1/1/25: 5% back in statement credits for travel/entertainment, up to $80/month, through Dec 2025
  3. 1/31/5: 10% back in statement credits on all purchases (min $750 spend), up to $80/month, from February through April
  4. 2/1/25: 100,000 bonus points for $750 spend (window from Feb through Mar)
  5. 3/1/25: $40 statement credit for each >$375 purchase, max 2 per month, from Mar through May
  6. 3/15/25: $100 statement credit for $1000 online purchases from 3/15 to 4/14

Including base cash-back, means earning effectively:
24.33% back on general purchases
36.33% back on groceries/restaurants
38.33% back on gas
29.33% back on travel/entertainment
39.33% back on Expedia.com purchases
50% back on a $375 Expedia.com purchase

Careful though, my Expedia purchase that should have been >$375 got split into separate transactions (booked round trip flights for two people and each flight got split by SYW). But the base points got awarded all together as one transaction (grr…)

Nice offers!

FYI Expedia split the flight transactions not SYW.

question — Earn up to $240 ????? only $40×3=120

Earn up to $240in statement creditsin 3 months1

Earn a $40 statement credit each month when you use your Shop Your Way Mastercard® to make 1 eligible purchases each month of $375 or more each. Offer is valid 3/1/2025 (or from the date you activate this offer, whichever date is later) through 5/31/20251.

They sent a correction that it’s just (1) $40 credit per month so up to $120 total

I got the home improvement offer literally today via email. First time seeing it. It does run from 2/1-4/30. So effectively I only get 2 of the possible 3 months.

Looking for online and grocery stacking. My usual grocery stores don’t seem to sell directly online.

Any suggestions for stacking online and grocery purchase offers? None of my grocery brands seem to sell gift cards directly online.

Buy gift cards through Door Dash. Some are even available at 10% off.

Does your grocery store have an app where you can place pickup orders. Ours (Stater Bros) does and there’s no fee for pickup so that’s been an easy way to get both online and GGR stacked.

Order pickup from Home Depot and CANCEL THAT SHIT after the charge posts and you get all the details. That’s gonna give you the best data point without all the hassle. Maybe the offer bonus will even post, maybe it won’t, but you won’t be wondering WTF is going on because it doesn’t matter since you CANCELLED THAT SHIT!

Side note: I ordered some shit from Amazon for a buyer group that was like 4% below cost because I’m a dumbass, but it coded correctly and I got my $75 bonus for online purchases (less the 4% for being a sucker!).

i purchased a washer dryer combo over $1.5k at homedepot.com and it didn’t count as home improvement. Whoever told me homedepot.com works is not true. It is coded as “Merchandise-Home supply warehouse stores”…not home improvement

Interesting. I purchased a couple toilets from Home Depot and it coded as home improvement. But it was pickup so maybe that’s why.

order on HOMEDEPOT.COM and have it delivered doesn’t count as home improvement!!! so this deal is useless because you can’t physically pick up a washer and dryer.

Surprised at that and it’s kind of stupid that it doesn’t code as HI. Sorry you had to be the DP on that. But grateful for letting us know.

Kurt so do you get the bonus points for “Merchandise-Home supply warehouse stores” and how long does it take for it to show up? it has been 13 days for me and there is still no bonus points.

I don’t know. I have only done one $500 gift card so far, so have not reached the amount to trigger the offer. I do plan to do another $500 so I can find out find out, because I have the offer for the following 3 months and don’t want to miss out if it does work. It seems like JMO below is saying below that it might still work. I also did $2000 of gas, grocery, and dining and haven’t gotten that credit yet, but did get my $75 credit for $750 of online purchases not long after meeting that threshold.

My $100 February bonus posted yesterday. Bought $500 gift card in store Feb 3 and $500 gift card in store Feb 17th. Both coded as Merchandise-Home supply warehouse stores.

The MCC coding is more specific and doesn’t correlate to the offer generally.

Mine was a fridge order for delivery and it counted just fine.

Jmo does your code as Merchandise-Home supply warehouse stores” and did you order it on Homedepot.com?

Jmo
Jmo (@guest_2004428)
February 14, 2025 11:56

Yes it was HomeDepot.com.

It’s unfortunately too long ago to see the MCC code (March last year).

The online spending points posted late this month so I’m hopeful you will still get the Home Improvement credit as well. I wish I could guarantee it but obviously can’t.

got it..i didn’t get the online shopping promo..so if i don’t get the home improvement points, then i only get 1% cash back from the purchase. ugh..

February 15, 2025 11:17

Still nothing on the points or credit? I’m sure you know this but in case you don’t, the credits post back-dated to the beginning of the statement period. So if you haven’t been scrolling down to check then you may not have seen the Home Improvement credit.

Jmo – false alarm. i actually got the points for the washer and dryer combo at HD. But the weird thing is only P2 got it. P1 purchased $1k home depot gift card and didn’t get the points. The reason I purchased HD gift card is because HD doesn’t allow split credit card payment and my washer/dryer, fridge totaled $2.6k. So i thought i could still get points by purchasing $1k giftcard …hmm

purchasing a gift card online will sometimes be coded thru a 3rd party vendor. in store would have been safer. or are you saying the 1k posted as Home suppy store correctly?

When do the bonus points post after completing an offer?

Bockrr
Bockrr (@guest_2005157)

I would say usually 2 business days for the charge to post and 2 additional business days for the credit to hit.
