Our Verdict
I got this offer and a reader got the $50 offer, others are saying in the comments that they got the $25 offer. If you can easily change around your direct deposit from work, this should be easy money. Here’s a list of prior data points on what worked and what didn’t with Discover.
Received mine a couple days ago. I did two ACH pushes of varying amounts from Chase in July & August as a WTHIWGIAT. Glad I did give it a try. Easy $50!
I received my $50 bonus today.
Got $25 in my checking account today as “Account Promotion.” This is the only promotion I’ve found that it could possibly be. I wasn’t aware of it so this is a nice surprise!
Did anyone get the bonus yet? I have not yet received.
Nope.
Nope
I got the $50 offer.
I’ve been using this account for a while. I’ll change my DD from $100 to $250.
Got the $50 offer yesterday and set it up through my employer’s direct deposit. Nice little bonus.
Got email the offer for 50 today 5/31. Almost never see offers from them, this one I got. There wasn’t any offers when I first opened the checking so this is better than nothing. 😛
Did all these emails go out on May 31? I am wondering whether I should look further back than the last two days.
Curiously I did not receive any email of any kind from Discover, and I have had a checking account with them for a couple years.
Anyone else in my shoes?
My wife didn’t get anything either. I got the stupid useless email today.
I got no email for this and I have Discover checking for the past 5+ years. All useless emails for me. Even for credit card offers I never get targeted.
I got the “please don’t forget to set up your direct deposit” A/B testing email. I guess I am in the control group. Lol
Any idea what counts as a direct deposit? Could a push from Alliant to Discover count as a direct deposit? Ironically I have used Discover pushes in the past to satisfy direct deposit requirements at other banks 😉
