Easy $20 if targeted.
Got targeted by several offers recently after starting to use my long dormant card.
Earn extra 6% on restaurants ($60)
Add authorized user and make a purchase ($50)
Add Discover to Google Pay, use 3 times for $20 minimum ($20)
First and and second offers came through email. Third offer showed up in app only.
Is there any exclusion like gift cards?
I am thinking to buy 3 kroger physical gift card for $20 each.
Yay targeted for 20$. This is probably the first time in 12 years I am targeted for something useful.
Keep in mind each purchase has to be for at least $20. That should be noted in the post. Should be “when you complete three taps of minimum $20 each with Google Pay”

How does anyone keep getting these emails? I’ve been a customer for years and never got one email Lol.
Same. But then I recently realized I was opted-out of promotional emails!
The only emails Discover sends me is current balance request and transfers. Lol
I also got this email:
Try Discover again and earn an extra $50 cash back
Just activate this offer and spend at least $1,000 in new purchases by 9/30/2024 to receive your extra Cashback Bonus®.*
Email title: [Name], want to earn extra cash back with your Discover® Card?
Got the same offer only $25/$500
Luckily, got this offer! But have never used Google pay in stores yet. Anyone know if I can use at my regular go to stores like Costco, Target, Kroger, Sprouts etc. Thanks!
Yes, the vast majority of stores accept Google Pay. It’s just NFC Payments.
Google Pay is the rebranded Android Pay, the technology was later adopted by Apple as Apple Pay, and now is widely used by pretty much every Credit Card as “Tab to Pay”. Look for the Wireless Payment symbol at the terminal, or ask the cashier if they support “Apple Pay”.
I have seen very few stores that do not accept NFC Payments. Surprisingly, Ralph’s — a Kroger Brand — is one of the stores that does not accept NFC Payments; I do not know about Kroger, proper but it seems to be a corporate decision to not support NFC Payments.
Tap*
My local Smith’s (another Kroger brand) finally started accepting NFC payments last year.
Same with my local Kroger stores. I’ve only encountered one store in my metro area within the past year which did not accept tap-to-pay.
I work for Kroger, and our tap to pay only started working this year. It’s been an option on the credit card readers this entire time, but corporate had decided to keep it turned off.
not targeted (again). guessing they won’t start targeting me til after i’m out of the first-year cash back matching period?
