eBay sent out a targeted eBay Bucks promotion for Monday and Tuesday:

Get 10% back on eBay App purchases.
Get 8% back on eBay web purchases.

The Fine Print

Offer Details

Must use latest version of mobile app for the 10% offer
Minimum $50 purchase required with both offers.
Only invited, registered eBay Bucks participants who receive the promotional offer from eBay in My Messages are eligible. Sorry, no forwarding—the offer is not transferable.
The Promotion starts at 5:00AM PT on February 4, 2019 and ends at 11:59PM PT on February 5, 2019 (the “Promotion Period”).
The Promotion applies to any qualifying items purchased during the Promotion Period that meet the minimum purchase requirement.
You must activate the offer to qualify.
Qualifying items exclude all items in the following categories: Classifieds; Business & Industrial, but only for Heavy Equipment within that category; Real Estate; Gift Cards & Coupons, including eBay Gift Cards, Gift Cards, and Digital Gifts within that category; Bullion within the Coins & Paper category; and all categories in Motors, except Parts & Accessories.
Rewards are capped at $100 per transaction and $500 per Earn Period.

Purchases must be completed during the Promotion Period and paid for before the Promotion ends.

Our Verdict

I get most Bucks deals, but didn’t get this one, maybe it’s more targeted. Remember to shop through a portal. The app offer probably can’t stack with using the eBay portal so it’s not really the biggest gain to use app > web.

Been holding out for a 10-15% coupon, can you use eBay bucks to purchase 3rd party gift cards, unlike regular eBay gift cards? I don’t usually go for eBay bucks but I have some time sensitive purchases to make.
