Robinhood is sending some existing users an offer to get up to $250 bonus by depositing funds:
- $10 for $200-$999
- $25 for $1,000-$2,499
- $50 for $2,500-$4,999
- $100 for $5,000-$14,999
- $250 for $15,000+

The Fine Print

Your cash reward will be based on your net deposits.
Net deposits are the total amount of all initiated deposits from August 4 – August 17, 2021 minus initiated withdrawals or canceled deposits from August 4 – August 24, 2021. Simply: it’s the money you put in minus the money you take out through the above dates.
The funds you receive through the deposit match program will be reported as miscellaneous income in your 1099-MISC form. Because of IRS minimum earnings requirements, you may not receive a 1099-MISC form if your deposit-matched funds and any other funds (i.e. stock reward funds) are valued at less than $600.

Our Verdict

This is a nice bonus for a $15,000 deposit, and the funds just need to remain there for a few weeks. Check your email to see if you were targeted, not sure if this is being sent out widely or with more selective criteria.

Your reward will expire if it isn’t claimed within 30 days of receiving the reward. You can use your cash reward to invest right away, but it can’t be withdrawn for 30 days after the reward is claimed.

I dont understand why people are saying the 15K has to stay in there for 60 days. This is pretty clear that it’s only the bonus of 250 that cannot be withdrawn. You can withdraw the 15K as soon as the bonus posts to the account.
