I’ve 20 off on instacart. Can we purchase gift cards to trigger this bonus?

Trying to decide whether to use this now, or wait to see if they do another double up deal before mid- August.

Mid-August is probably a little too soon for another double cashback, as the last 3 rounds have been 2.5 – 4 months apart. If you are going to hold off and you already activated it, be careful not to accidentally trigger the deal.

Oh yeah? And how do it check my offers?

On your credit card page, click on ‘Earn More With Cash back Offers,
Don’t miss out on cash back deals.’. Among all the other typical offers
there may be two tiles/offers that need to be activated.

You probably need to have a Smartly Checking account to be able to see them.

$10 on $50 is 20%. I’d rather have that one.

Do you have the offer terms and conditions?
Is $50 one time purchase or could be multiple purchases upto $50 ?

I also had this offer. I completed it by 06/25 and it just credited today, 09/07. When they say to give 2-3 statement cycles they aren’t kidding I was getting ready to contact support soon.

Cardmembers who have both a personal credit card account and a business credit or charge card account with U.S. Bank are not eligible for these offers.

Does Walmart gas count?

I have this for P1 / P2. But I haven’t figured out a merchant where in store purchases will work for gas. Wawa for a fact does not work. I tried 7-11 the other day, waiting to see if that activates the offer. I still end up getting 4x points on my altitude connect for gas, but it’s smart enough not to trigger the offer.

I can’t think of a way to utilize the full $20 unless I can find a merchant that triggers it in store, does anyone know of one?

People on Reddit claim that in-store purchases at Wawa with gas pumps codes as gas.

Any Wawa that sells gas, all in store transactions(as well as fuel pump) have coded as fuel for me in the past and counted for Chase Freedom 5%. I have a targeted deal on my Altitude Connect card for June/July that was spend $100 in gas, get 10% statement credit, I bought a $100 GC in store figuring it would trigger… in the past these bonuses take a few weeks and show up eventually as a transaction/credit, you have to keep track.

No reason it shouldn’t work, unless you do a purchase at a non-gas Wawa.

It won’t work inside. Fuel has two different merchant codes for pumps and paying inside. Only the code for pumps works for this deal.

For the gas cash back deal, it only counts automated fuel dispensers (MCC 5542). When you pay inside, gas stations code as service stations (MCC 5541). While some pumps may code as 5541, inside will almost never code as 5542.
I’m not sure if the EV charging station can be gamed though.

Buy enough gas and you will. Last round, I took one vehicle that was low and two 5 gallon cans I use for mowers. I could have taken two more cans, but they were already full. I managed to get enough for $11 and change cash back. It would have only taken another 10-15 gallons to max it out.

Is your gas offer one time use only ?
I thought my gas offer of $10 credit /$50 gas purchase is cumulative. Now I am I’m doubting what is my offers offer t&c

Anyone else can confirm the $50 gas purchase offer ? TIA

I am not sure about that offer specifically, but in my experience none of the US bank offers have bee cumulative.

Where do you see these offers, all I see are the quarterly and misc cash back deals? Are they found in there?

You need to have a US Bank Smartly checking account and credit card to get these extra deals. Info can be found here: https://www.usbank.com/bank-accounts/checking-accounts/smart-rewards-b.html

If these are part of Smart Rewards, it sounds like you need to have a $20,000 balance (Primary tier) in US Bank consumer accounts?
(Why do people have that much at US Bank?)

Also, I see that the terms say “Cardmembers who have both a personal credit card account and a business credit or charge card account with U.S. Bank are not eligible for these offers” (I’ve seen people report that, but I didn’t know the terms explicitly said it (at least, for the Smart Rewards offers, but I guess it applies to all offers).

As a veteran or active military, you get the Plus tier automatically without the need for keeping any balance requirement and I don’t have a business credit card with them.

Also the Alliance customer group automatically puts you in the Primary Tier.
