The Offer
Check your U.S. Bank offers for the following deals:
- Activate to earn 20% Cashback on Home Improvement stores, up to $20 total
- Activate to earn 15% Cashback on Gas and EV stations, up to $20 total, one time
- Activate to earn 10% Cashback at Best Buy, up to $30 back total.
Our Verdict
These are nice deals, in season. Hopefully these can stack with the U.S. Bank double cashback deal for June 12-14 which would result in a whopping 40% back on purchases at home improvement stores and 30% back on purchases on gas and 20% at Best Buy. These stores sell gift cards too.

On your credit card page, click on ‘Earn More With Cash back Offers, Don’t miss out on cash back deals.’. Among all the other typical offers there may be two tiles/offers that need to be activated.
You probably need to have a Smartly Checking account to be able to see them.

What I ended up doing (Amazon GCs at every merchant) :
Gas
P1 spend $130 on GCs on altitude connect, get 34% cash back, $44.2
P2 spend $130 on GCs on Cash+, get 32% cash back, $41.6
Home Improvement
P1 spend $100 on GCs or actual items from HD / Lowes on Cash+, get 45% cash back, $45
P2 spend $100 on GCs or actual items from HD / Lowes on Cash+, get 41% cash back, $41
Best Buy
P1 spend $300 on GCs on Cash+, get 21% cash back, $63
P2 spend $300 on GCs on Cash+, get 21% cash back, $63
Total $298 – $53 (natural 5% I normally get at amazon) = $245 net profit
My part is done. Now to wait and see what they do.
Where do you see this offer on your account? I can’t find it for the life of me.
That’s discussed a couple of times below, but apparently if you don’t have a Smartly Checking account with Smart Rewards enabled, you won’t see these offers.
Have the Gas & Home Improvement offer for P1 / P2
Gameplan.

P2 spend $130 on GCs on Cash+, get 32% cash back, $41.6

P2 spend $100 on GCs or actual items from HD / Lowes on Cash+, get 41% cash back, $41
Probably just get Amazon gift cards. I’ll end up forfeiting my natural 5% back. Still ends up being $148.8 cash back on $460 spend, or 32%
Side note, anyone know if HomeDepot sells gift cards for other merchants?
Not sure what you’re doing, but each offer has a maximum of $20 and can only be used once.
Combined it with the double cash back days. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/u-s-bank-double-cashback-on-credit-card-offers/
I’m not sure that will work given their statement. But I can wait until that weekend to make the purchase(s), just in case.
What statement? We all already did this the last go around. I was able to get $50 back at grocery on P1 and P2 on $160spend.

without calling or chatting, how can I find out the next date my rewards expire? Phone rep previously told me they would be noted on my statement before they expire, and I saw that years ago, but not now. TIA
zzcodi You need to be more specific with which rewards you’re asking about, especially since your question is completely unrelated to this post.
cash+rewards & amex
c
zzcodi Cash+ rewards expire 36 months after the cycle they were earned.
If you haven’t earned enough to cash out the $25 minimum in 3 years, you’re honestly not taking advantage of the card properly. Use Real-Time rewards, Amazon Shop with Points, or PayPal Pay with Rewards to redeem smaller amounts.
If you have earned more than $25, don’t hoard your rewards there. Cash them out as soon as you have more than $25 and put the money in a HYSA to earn some interest.
And again, you need to be more specific about amex. No idea what card you are asking about.
If these are Smart Rewards exclusive as the other comment seems to indicate from the deal text, then you have to have a $20K ‘relationship balance’ with USB to be eligible – this is checking/savings/investment balances. You can also become eligible by having an outstanding mortgage, unsecured personal loan, or HELOC that USB is servicing.

I don’t believe these are targeted beyond that (everyone I know that qualifies for Smart Rewards has them, I don’t).
You also become eligible with a veteran’s status that puts you in the “Plus” tier.
That could be a factor. I am and have a checking account that I keep very little money in.
Makes it worth while to hold on to the checking account if not doing the checking bonuses every two years.
weird, I swore seeing the US bank deals few days ago on my account, and even the double cashback. But can’t find any today after seeing this post both on pc and app?..
Did you just have a new business credit card added to your profile? If so, you will no longer see the cashback deals…it sucks
yes! so they not only don’t apply to business cards, but they prevent them from the personal?
Yep, it’s been that way for a while. Chuck do you want to mention on both posts that cashback deals will be missing from your profile if you have any business accounts? Also, apparently there is a workaround if you have an old email with cashback offers from U.S. Bank.
Found some official text on the link posted by Greg (https://www.usbank.com/bank-accounts/checking-accounts/smart-rewards-b.html):
Cardmembers who have both a personal credit card account and a business credit or charge card account with U.S. Bank are not eligible for these offers.
Same thing over here
That’s not double percentage back. It’s double the amount back. For instance if it’s limited to $10back, you would be limited to $20 back.
