Our Verdict

Previous best bonus on this card was 50,000 points. It looks like this 85,000 point offer might have been sent out to those with an existing relationship with UBS (and I imagine a lot of funds). If anybody tries to apply without receiving the snail mail, let us know if you are successful or not in the comments below.

What type of PP is that? PP cardholder only, PP & immediate family, PP + 2 guests, or PP and immediate family or 2 guests?

I’m an existing UBS customer. I’ve actually moved most of my accounts over, but the UBS Visa is one of my oldest credit cards, so I leave funds there to keep it open. I don’t use my UBS Visa for anything at the moment, just enough use to keep it open, but I do still have a bank of points from when it was my main card.
I’m thinking of jumping on this. I can always PC back to the no fee card, but given the travel credits and the gogoinflight passes, it might be worth the AF after this.

The regular UBS Visa I think is a 1% card, right?

I just told them that I was trying to set up an appointment with the local UBS representative (actually true), and they agreed to send me two copies of the application for the 85,000 point offer in the mail. However, I have no idea if I will get the points even if I am approved for the card without an existing account.

Did you get your applications yet? I received one and there is no bonus information on it.

Same for me. The rep over the phone said it would have the information for the bonus I mentioned (the 85k/5k mentioned here and on USCCG but when I got it bupkiss.)

Did you apply?

Impressive offer. So after spend you’ll have around 90,000 points. Seems like a great option is to redeem 35,000 points to cover the $495 AF, then use the remaining 55,000 points to cover around $900 airfare.

So the $5,000 MSR initial spend would yield $900 statement credits (85,000 sign up bonus + 5,000 regular points on $5,000 spend). Plus a chance to try and see if the travel benefits are worth it to keep. Not bad for $495 annual fee.

Wondering if somebody can PC to the no-fee UBS Visa Signature credit card before the 2nd annual fee hits?

“but you might be able to get it by calling 888-762-1232 and pressing 3” – does this mean this is nationwide? as in no restrictions on existing customers etc..

If you use it for airline purchases then you get a better deal right?

Yes. I have the no fee version of this card and can confirm you can use your points for statement credits, and I think your valuation is correct.

How do you like the no fee version? Is it flimsy or a pretty thick card?

I think you should mention the $500 lounge credit requires 50k yearly spend
