Switch To Paperless Statements With US Airways Barclaycard & Receive $25

Removed targeted from the title as it appears every US Airways cardholder is eligible. Remember that the sign up bonus on this offer is currently 50,000 miles after first purchase, the annual fee of $89 is not waived but this $25 will help offset that.

The Offer

  • Switch to paperless statements and make one purchase and receive a $25 statement credit from Barclays
  • Here is how to get targeted:
    • If you haven’t enrolled in paperless statements, log in and out several times and try using different browsers. It should eventually show up. Make sure you don’t have pop ups blocked
    • If you have enrolled in paperless statements, enroll back in paper statements, log back out wait a few minutes and then log back in and the pop up should appear. To cancel paperless statements do this:
      • Account settings
      • Cancel paperless statements
    • If you’re using a mobile phone, make sure you click to view the full version of the site before logging in.
    • If you have two or more cards, you can get the offer on each card. Enroll for the first card and then click the other card, log out and log back in and it should appear.

The Fine Print

  • Purchase must be made by December 31st, 2014
  • Will not appear on the mobile version of the site, make sure you go to the regular version if using a mobile phone before logging in.

Our Verdict

More and more financial institutions are offering these paperless statement bonuses recently (Chase is currently offering $5 if you switch to paperless statements with their checking products). That’s because sending out paper statements is relatively expensive for card issuers, according to this blog post on the Barclaycard ring blog it costs about $5/per year. I guess Barclaycard are banking on the fact that the average cardholder will keep their account open for 5 years or longer for this to be a profitable promotion. Or maybe they just want to reward customers, reduce waste and try to improve their bottom line. Who cares? It’s a win-win for us and the enivornment.

Hat tip to PointsCentric for making me aware of this promotion.

Actually I just received my credit. I left a $25 balance on this card expecting it to be zeroed out. But my statement closed with a $25 balance. The credit was applied, bringing my card balance to zero…but it still says I have a $25 minimum payment? Ugh

Did anyone actually receive this bonus? I left $25 on my statement expecting that it would be zeroed out but it did not.

Just logged into my account, and was offered the same thing for 1 of the 2 accounts. Quick & easy $25!
