The Offer
- TD Bank is offering a $500 bonus when you open a new business checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Deposit a minimum of $2,500 within the first 25 days and maintain at least a $2,500 balance for 90 additional days from the 25th day after account opening.
- Conduct 25 qualifying transactions across the first 3 statement cycles (ACH debits/credits, bill pay, Merchant Solutions settlement transactions, incoming/outgoing wires, checks paid, small business Zelle transactions, Visa Business Debit card transactions, digital express remote deposits, and settlement transactions for TD Online Accounting or Tap-to-Pay on iPhone payments received)
The Fine Print
- Offer valid October 1, 2024 through November 30, 2024 and is available when opening a qualified Checking account at a TD Store or online.
- Checking Bonus: You will not qualify for the Checking Bonus if you are an existing TD Bank Business Checking customer OR had a previous Business Checking Account that was closed within the preceding 12 months OR have received a prior Business Checking account bonus at any time. Eligibility is determined based on the SSN/TIN of the business used to open the account.
- To qualify for the $500 Cash Back Offer: You must open a new Business Checking account. Business Simple Checking, Business Convenience Checking Plus, Business Interest Checking Plus or Business Premier Checking products are eligible. The criteria below must also be met:
- Deposit a minimum of $2,500 within the first 25 days and maintain at least a $2,500 balance for 90 additional days from the 25th day after account opening.
- Conduct 25 qualifying transactions across the first 3 statement cycles. Your eligible transactions include ACH debits/credits, bill pay, Merchant Solutions settlement transactions, incoming/outgoing wires, checks paid, small business Zelle transactions, Visa Business Debit card transactions, digital express remote deposits, and settlement transactions for TD Online Accounting or Tap-to-Pay on iPhone payments received.
- After you have completed the requirements outlined above, we’ll deposit the bonus in your new account on or before 180 days after account opening. To receive the bonus, your account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. If your new checking account is closed by you or TD Bank within 6 months after account opening, TD Bank reserves the right to deduct the bonus amount at closing.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
- TD Business Simple Checking Account Guide has a $10 monthly fee that can’t be waived
- TD Business Convenience Checking Plus Account has a $15 monthly fee, this is waived with $1,500 in Combined balances in TD Business Convenience Checking
Plus and one personal checking
Early Account Termination Fee
In their online fee schedule, there is no mention of an early account termination fee. The fine print does say the accounts need to be kept open for 6 months or the bonus is forfeit though.
Our Verdict
Think this is the first time we’ve seen a business checking bonus. There is a $300 personal checking & $200 savings bonus. Bonus itself is a bit tedious but worth doing if you’re eligible. I’ll add this to our best bank bonus page.

Does anyone still have the URL link saved for the offer?
Just in case they try to not offer the bonus..
They closed and reopened the account during the opening process and am afraid that will affect the bonus posting.

What exactly does 25 qualifying transactions across first three statement cycles mean? Do you need to have some transactions in each cycle for the first three statement periods?
I know this is late, but it means you need to have 25 qualifying transactions per statement cycle. I confirmed this with a rep over the phone
If that’s the case, I see some CFPB complaints in TD’s future.
td.com/movingbonus has another offer
Note that there is a $3 paper statement fee, at least on the Business Simple Checking.
that 25 qualifying transactions all i did ach from many banks ,all count as direct deposit, anyone know if that is qualify transaction?
It’s right in the T&C: Your eligible transactions include ACH debits/credits…
Did anyone receive a statement who opened account in November?
$500 banner no longer showing on site. Bonus pulled early?
Sure seems like thats the case. Bummer deal.
I saw the other comments, so I applied in-branch and got everything set up plus a debit card in about 30 minutes. It sounds like that might be the way to go for this bank. I will update y’all with my timeline if/when I get the bonus.
Which branch did you go to LOL? I just finished mine and it took 90 minutes of my time! Fortunately I had all my ducks in a row – biz cert, documents but I am confused as to why this process takes so long. Dont get me started on how the person helping me got my name wrong on every single document I needed to sign, so she needed to print them again and again.
Why does this process take so long? I get they need to do their due diligence but you can literally open a bank account in 15 minutes or less online, why does it then take an hour and a half in person? Are they not collecting the same information? Doing the same due diligence? Checking documents? It’s not rocket science.
Everytime I open a business account in person, the bankers act as if this is the first time they have opened a business account (it’s especially annoying since the person opening the account is supposedly their Business Specialist) with not knowing what to do and having to check in with someone or call the back office.
Applied 11/4, (3 weeks ago), rec’d email that they are investigating. On 11/13, rec 3 documents to read and send back. Had to copy to my desktop and email back. They notified immediately they rec’d documents. One was about the debit card which we need to use, the others were about their rules. Then nothing until the 21st. Said my acct is open and gave me acct #. But it’s not linked to my checking. Then yesterday rec’d email with another form to send back about linking my personal checking acct. (for the balance req.) Did that and sent in the 25.00 opening deposit via ext. bank. Still cannot deposit the 2500. I do not have my acct showing up yet. I’ll wait a few days. Even if I try to send in $ from ext. acct , the acct fails on the sending bank.
The biz account didn’t show up on my personal login either (well, it did prior to official approval then disappeared). You should enroll the biz account separately to gain online access.
Agree with others that this has been a difficult process. I tried enrolling in ACH payments and they are requesting that I go to the branch.
yup, difficult, but a call to rep did the trick. They are linked for balance purposes.
All I needed was a phone call to link my business to my personal acct. I submitted the form and heard nothing for days. 5 minutes on the phone and rep had it sorted
yup, did that. Thanks
This account has been a headache so far. I got a letter in the mail today “FDIC required update for your Deposit Account” it says they identified missing info for my account and they need “Valid Business Documents” and it says to visit my local TD Branch to add and provide the info. At the end “TD may continue to reach out to you occasionally in order to maintain accurate and current customer data” … Doesn’t have a deadline or say account will be closed if I don’t do it, did anyone else receive this? Are you ignoring it? Seems annoying to go into the branch, and I probably dont even have any additional documents
P1 and P2 got the same couple of days back. Will call the local branch and ask. This might be happening for Sole Prop using SSN i guess. But, def TD bank is out of sync with biz banking.
FWIW, P2 opened in branch and still got that letter.
Slanky I called the branch and was told these were sent out in error. They checked my account and said there was nothing more they needed from me. I would just call a branch. First branch near me wasn’t answering the phone, the second picked up right away but a manager had to call me back. He said he would call me back again if anything more came down from corporate about this.
