I am approved but how the heck do I get my account number? The emails don’t show the full number >:(

Got my login by calling the number on the email. I’m in MI so outside TDs service area, the CSR on the phone swore I could get a checking savings account now that I have the roboinvest… however upon doing the online app it still stops you after entering your address and says you’re outside the service area and won’t let you continue

TD Bank sure is taking their sweet time to do the final approval of the account. I opened it a week ago. I thought it was already open already. Checked a week later and it’s still waiting for “final review”

Well, this site is ur brainchild and I find it very useful. And I think a post on ur thinking/analysis of long term investments would be useful too!

is it easy to transfer the money out and close the account?

Is the bonus amount determined just by an initial deposit, or is there a window that I can make a few deposits in? I see the 90 day hold period, but no funding window, so it looks like the initial deposit determines the bonus?

Nearly all of their fixed-income holdings have negative returns over the short term, so I don’t know if it’s worth it for those of us interested in keeping the funds in there for just the 90 days that are required. The bonus may not cover the potential short term losses.

Can’t you just transfer over ETFs like VTI or VOO?

I’m not an expert on ETFs whatsoever, (I’ve never invested in them), but two things:

(1) I just took a look at the VTI and VOO returns over the short term as well, (taking into account the past couple of months), and those returns seem negative to me, as well. Please correct me if I am wrong in that regard, as I truly may have the wrong impression.

(2) We don’t seem to have any control over what our funds are invested in on this platform, (TD Automated Investing). To qualify for the bonus, we must transfer cash only, and then their system decides what to do with the funds, so even if we wanted to to buy VTI or VOO, we wouldn’t have the ability to do so.

Please let me know if any of my takes are incorrect, as I would definitely participate in this offer if I knew for a fact that my return will only go up, rather than the bonus just covering any potential losses, (if covering them completely, at all).

Chuck In the 6th bullet point: “You cannot fund your account with securities.” This is for cash only.

Dave Interest rates have risen over the last 60-90 days. A portfolio of unhedged fixed income instruments have to go down in that environment.

A not-exact comparison would be to look at the price movement of TLT which is the 20-yr TBond ETF. I’m not certain what the duration of the All Fixed Income portfolio is but the 20yr has not been pretty since the September rate cut.

I opened my account last night but I am having issues with trying to link one of my many checking accounts. Has anyone had success with linking Fidelity Cash Management account?

I think only the 5k sounds appealing to me. the 25k, you will get $500+ in savings bonuses with say WF or others

I would like to participate in this offer, but am a little concerned that almost all of their fixed-income portfolio offerings, (most conservative), have a negative return during the past month, 3 months, YTD, etc. These losses may very well make the bonus worthless if not make the entire offer a net loss.

Please correct me if I am wrong, because I really do want to participate if my balance has an overwhelming chance of only going up and never down.

Steve I ended up only making 2.99% on my funds after applying the bonus. So, yes, I endured the negative returns while my account was open. A lesson learned. IMO the bonus isn’t worth the risk.

Thank you for the DP – that is what I was thinking was possible, which is why I am leaning against doing this bonus.

Cannot seem to find what the ACATS fee is… How easy is it to ACAT cash in and out of TDAI?
