- Receive $50 right away when you open your first checking account at Cornerstone.
- Receive $50 when you register for digital banking and enable e-statements.
- Receive $50 each month when you spend at least $500 with your Visa debit card. Offer good for three consecutive months.
The Fine Print
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
easyChecking has no monthly fees to worry about
Early Account Termination Fee
$25 if closed within six months. There is also an inactivity fee if you don’t use bill pay after three months.
Our Verdict
Annoying that it’s a hard pull and you need to do $1,500 in debit card spend, but always nice to see bonuses without direct deposit requirements and better than the previous $200 deal that was in branch.

William Charles,
Did you do that print screen in the post yourself or did someone send it in? See my comment below as I think the offer is gone.

I clicked on the link in the post and it leads to a credit card balance transfer offer. I don’t even see a way to apply for a checking account on the page.
Are you all seeing the same thing?
I must have subscribed to this post when it 1st came out but I don’t remember if I ever clicked on the direct link to see the offer.
Received $50×2 on first month’s statement, but not the $50 for debit card spending. Anyone get that bit? Perhaps the first month, being a partial one, doesn’t count.
Was it a HP when you opened the account?

Early Account Termination Fee:
$25 if account is closed within the first 6 months William Charles
Interestingly, there is a Bill Pay Inactivity Fee of $3 per month if no bills paid within 3 months…so be careful if you activate their Bill Pay service.
