Our Verdict
It’s common to see high cash back rates on VPN purchases, but never seen any above 100%. Some people have issues with Topcashback tracking and paying out, so keep that in mind. Probably wouldn’t do this deal just for the extra cash back, but could be handy if you need a VPN.
Anyone had success combining different surfshark accounts, i.e., old sub and this new one?
I did this deal in August, can I do it again?
2/24/25: Purchased surfshark one+ thru Rakuten for $115.83 and received notice of successful tracking for $115.83 cashback within 6 hours of purchase.
State with no tax?
I think Surfshark bills based on country b/c my state usually has a high sales tax. For the United States, it’s VAT/Sales Tax 0%/$0.00 on my receipt.
I successfully received the cashback from both the Nord VPN and Surfshark moneymaker deals from last year’s Black Friday via TCB. P1-P3 all received the cashback and had similar timelines. I purchased VPN subscriptions only with no add-ons that would cost anything extra. All accounts were created with separate email addresses as Nord and Surfshark are the same company, so I didn’t want there to be any mix-ups there. I assumed each cashback offer on TCB was for new customers only. No customer service intervention was necessary on either deal.
Nord VPN:
11/16/23 – Clicked through TCB link to purchase 2 year subscription with 3 months free, cost was $80.73 with no FTF fees or sales tax charged as I used my Cap One Spark credit card
11/27/23 – $96.88 cashback went pending (120% cashback) for a $16.15 MM per subscription
1/11/24 – Cashback changed from pending to payable on TCB dashboard
4/4/24 – Cashed out full amount via virtual Visa gift card with 5% bonus
4/5/24 – Received virtual Visa gift card via email
12/15/24 – Auto renewal cancelled through online account and confirmed via email as subscription only needed to be maintained for at least 60 days per TCB terms
2/16/26 – This is the date the subscription will expire, so I can use the VPN service through this date if I wish even though I cancelled the auto renewal
Surfshark:

Topcashback is back at 100% with surfshark and nordvpn. i dont know how long it will be live so worth jumping on it.

8/28/24 Purchased Surfshark via Rakuten for $114.52. It didn’t track so I inquired with Rakuten.
10/13/24: Surfshark never verified the purchase, so Rakuten kindly gave me a $100 bonus for my next purchase. I promptly purchased something from Walmart for about $10 and the $100/10,000 points were applied to my balance near instantly after.
Sucks I lost out on $14.52, however Rakuten says the inquiry is still open with Surfshark, so if they do finally verify the purchase it sounds like I’ll get the full $114.52.

Purchased NordVPN via Rakuten on 8/12. Cash back tracked within a day but is still pending after a month. Does anyone’s cash back take this long to be confirmed?
Does it extend your subscription if you already have surfshark?
The offer specifies: “Cash Back is only available for new Surfshark customers on first purchase. Limited to one per member.”
Maybe I should have waited for an offer >100%? In any case, cashback tracked for me in a few hours as many others reported. Thanks DoC!
Great option if you need to trigger a CC’s software credit (e.g., USB Triple Cash)
How? The triple cash card requires monthly consecutive charge to get a refund at end of annual year which is incompatible with all at once payment for cash back site offers like this one
NordVPN deal is so much better. Speeds are so much better and google doesn’t ask me to solve a captcha every time I use it.

Surfshark doesn’t do port forwarding AFAIK, at least not with their standard plan.
