The Offer
- Topcashback is offering 15% cashback at IHG (InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, EVEN Hotels, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Avid Hotels.)
Our Verdict
This obviously stacks with any other IHG deals as well.
The IHG page has now updated to show 15% cash back for Avid hotels, 6% Cash back for other brands. The Avid specific page still shows 15.75% (and most other specific brand pages show 6.3%)
DP: clicked through the Avid link below to make a booking for IHG stays in Europe, tracked after an hour but it’s only showing 6%.
In the past I used SB and it tracked successfully as well (lower CB %)
Same here.
Only seeing 6%???
EDIT: Seing 15.75% at https://www.topcashback.com/avid-hotels/ which claims it works for other IHG properties as well.
I’m seeing 15.75% cash back on the Avid page on TopCashback, which claims it’s valid for booking at most IHG properties as well. Probably should link that one instead for now.
Non-Commissionable Rates excluded (e.g. corporate rates). Won’t stack with those.
ON TOP of that offer, they have given me 10x for gas and 5x for amazon and grocery stores… I think, like most folks here, they are good at tracking small charges. I’ve same situation with hotels. WhatI do find helpful is to send an email to the IHG rewards before the booking, and as soon the charges post to the credit card. Hotels, even IHG ones, have a tendency to submit their charges as “holds” even after usages posted and so by the time the credit card takes them in, they don’t expect the user to remember… It’s dumb, but who can defy the customer service with proof. Right?
TCB often has good rate on IHG but none of them track successfully. I have 11 nights in Aug from multiple visit, nothing tracked. After you finished the stay and submit missing claim, they iced the claim asked to wait for 1 month. Then claim submit to retailer, tell you to wait 2~3 months for a resolution. I believe another 2~3 months to get the case if they honor. Experience from AA and UA shopping, although with lower rate but it works on spend bonus which is often.
They asked to wait for 15 days after check out, then they credit you immediately for the receipt you submit without bothering you to wait for retailer’s response.
From my exp, Ebates and airline shopping have a much better customer service and quicker solution compare to TCB or rebate me.
Confirmed, none of my IHG stays tracked in the last 3 years.
I submitted an order in July with Topcashback and they missed 2 nights IHG which would have equated $40.
Sometimes they credit and sometimes they dont. I now cut my payout expectations in half, it makes me feel better about it. 4.5% – 6%
Be careful with TopCashBack. They will at times pull their ‘other channel’ excuse out of their nether regions and use that, with no explanation, not to pay out.
Stay away from Topcashback! most of my tracking didn’t track and they denied my miss cashback claim very often. The latest one is from Hilton booking, I am sure I followed every step, read the term carefully, I even used the extension on firefox and still didn’t get tracked, then they declined my miss cashback claim saying retailer has awarded the commission (cashback) for my sale to another affiliate, and this is the retailer’s final decision. I only use two portals, Rakuten and tcb, of course I don’t see it on Rakuten side.
And I rent cars from National a lot, but none of them get tracked and they are saying this retailer doesn’t allow missing cashback claim?
This is so true, I have the exact experience with TCB on Hilton and IHG booking, which is very frustrating. Had a cashback didn’t track with Rakuten on a big order, but fortunately they were willing to honor the cashback.
Every cashback site fails to track here and there. If you’re submitting claims correctly it’s usually resolved. If not, contact Dominique. She’s helped me 5+ times via email and always been reasonable. So much hate on here for tcb. Lol Make sure you’re actually following the guides and be willing to communicate if something doesn’t track. It’s not that hard. Been using tcb since just after it’s inception and I’d rate it right up there with Rakuten. Highly recommend y’all ignore all the hate from the toxic DOC’ers and give it a chance for yourself lol
I had to hop in here because I travel a ton for work and primarily stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels. I probably spend at least a third of the year in an IHG property. I use TopCashBack to get rewards on my stays *All the time* and am very happy with the experience. Once in a while I’ll have to submit a support ticket, but it gets sorted out. And usually things just go smoothly. It’s been probably over a thousand dollars in cashback I’ve had through them in the last 4-5 years. I use Safari on a MacBook if that makes any difference.
