Update 11/01/18: Bonus has now been increased to 7% (previously 5%). Hat tip to Lantean
Topcashback offers you a bonus when you cash out your balance for certain things, they have recently added Virtual Visa prepaid cards and if you choose this as an option you receive a bonus1617 of 5%. Other options include:
- Amazon Gift Card (3% bonus)
- American Express® Reward Card (3% bonus)
- Gap eGiftCard (5% bonus)
- Nike eGiftcard (5%)
- Hotels.com eGiftcard (5%)
- Petco eGiftcard (5%)
- There’s also a bunch of other gift card options
Keep in mind this is an electronic gift card and not a physical gift card like the American Express option. Still might be worth at least considering for some readers.
Update: This will expire 6 months after being claimed. It also looks like you can actually pay $5 and get a physical card with your name on it ($1,000 maximum).

Any idea if visa giftcard payouts are going to increase again later in the year (currently at 3%)? Anyone waiting to cash out until such an increase?
I currently see 4% bonus ofr Visa and 5% for AMEX.
I am still holding off hoping for 7% bonus at end of the year during holidays.
That would also offset my credit card bill for holliday spendings
Thanks for sharing the current rates and your plan to wait until potential repeat of 7% at the year’s end. I will probably plan to do the same.
FYI, just got an email from TopCashBack advertising 6% bonus on Visa gift cards. Still not quite at 7% yet…
sorry, is there a FEE?
Is there a few for activation of the visa gift card?
They start to become as shady as they can be. The number of untracked, declined claims raised a lot in the couple of months. Their business is mainly depend on the declined cash back, just like how the rebate operators operate. Use other portals, they are more reliable and customer friendly.
Too bad DoC keep supporting and promoting them.
Literally every post we have on shopping portals people complain about non tracking. Doesn’t matter the portal, different people have different experiences. In MY experience I’ve never had an issue with TCB, but I have had issues with other portals.
OK, so it seems like it’s only for two weeks. Also other merchants are up to 10% bonus: https://www.topcashback.com/blog/holiday-payouts/
Shoot! I just cashed out 6 months of earnings last week!
How can one make sure that they use the whole value of the virtual card? You can’t really split online purchase to use it up to the last cent….
Use your small remaining balance to buy an Amazon GC on Amazon for that specific amount.
Thanks – Good tip on how to use the small remaining balance to buy an Amazon GC
I don’t get why people don’t get a Visa GC (7% bonus) and then use that to buy a gift card of another retailer they want.
For example, use the Visa GC to then reload balance/buy gift card on Amazon netting you a 7% bonus. Versus getting an Amazon gift card (3% bonus) from TCB.
Am I missing something?
Nope, makes sense.
You are not, the problem is that there are many moving part… you have to wait to receive the virtual gift card, you have to activate it and then you have to use it within 6 months.
So it just seems like it’s designed for you to forget something somewhere and lose money. Also, where ever you’re using this Visa GC you will not get rewards from using your regular CC.
But if you are diligent or will use full value right away then yes, this a good deal.
They are just so slow. I have purchases from July that have cahsback still pending.
Yep same here. One is a hulu purchase that Is pending 3 months later for lord knows what reason. Slowest portal in the business… makes swagbucks seem fast and efficient.
Now only if they’d increase their % back at GC.com to 1% on VGC like everyone else, I’d go back to using them.
