Update 1/10/21: Deal available again. Hat tip to reader Peak
The Offer
- TradeStation is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new account with promo code TSTVAFVE, deposit a minimum of $500 within 30 days of account opening and maintain $500+ for five months (five monthly $20 payments)
The Fine Print
- Only New Entity (non-Institutional), IRAs, Individual or Joint equities and futures accounts with the correct promotional code entered between March 1, 2020 and July 1, 2020 (the “Promotional Period”), and initially funded with New Assets (as defined below) of $500 or more are eligible for this cash offer.
- To qualify, you must enroll your new account (the “Account”) either by entering the promotional code on your new account application or by requesting to enroll, via telephone, with a TradeStation Representative.
- Existing clients of TradeStation, Benzinga employees and TradeStation employees are excluded from this offer.
- New Assets is defined as cash or securities held at a financial institution other than TradeStation (assets transferred from an existing TradeStation account do not qualify), which are deposited into the Account within 30 calendar days of Account enrollment.
- Your Account will not qualify for the cash offer if you withdraw or transfer assets from your Account, then redeposit them into the Account during the Promotional Period.
- New Assets will be based on initial funding amount. Asset fluctuations (up or down) do not affect the calculation of Qualifying Assets.
- Clients must maintain minimum funding of $500 through the month following fund date.
- Your one-time cash reward will be deposited into the Account the month following.
- Customers who receive promotional offers may be subject to IRS Form 1099-MISC reporting requirements should the total value of those items exceed $599 in a calendar year.
- Please consult a tax professional.
Our Verdict
Seems like a straight forward brokerage bonus, basically just deposit $500+ and then wait a month. Looks like if you open a TS GO account there are no fees or minimum requirements, although there is a $10 trading charge if you use the desktop platform so better to use the web/mobile app. This will be added to our best brokerage bonus page.

Anybody received or know how to look for tax forms for this bonus?
I looked for it under Home > Client Center >Accounts Equities > Statements but only showed monthly statements.
TradeStation response:
You were in the right place, but a Form 1099 is only generated if there is activity in the account. You have not traded, so Form 1099 was not generated.
Looks like the current offer is $150 for $500. Must deposit at least $500 AND buy $500 worth of crypto with it OR transfer at least $500 worth of crypto into the account from elsewhere. The payout is $75 at the end of the following month and another $75 at the end of the next month following that. (60-89 days depending on when you open account).
I have crypto sitting around in Coinbase so I’ll give it a try.
Its not “AND”. Its either the cash offer or 500/150 or the crypto offfer.
But yes, I think this should be marked expired as the direct link takes to the 150 offer for which there is already a doc post:

Just how long does it take for them to review and approve or deny new account applications?
I guess they’re going to wait until the 45th day to finish reviewing my application and then it would be too late to fund and get the bonus.
Not available for residents in Puerto Rico, remove from the list.
I got charged $64 in fees… so that will eat up most of my $100 bonus.

I just left my funds as cash in the account the whole time and didn’t get charged any fees.
New offer code TSTVAFYB rewards $150.
Terms: “Only New Entity (non-Institutional) Individual or Joint equities and futures accounts with the correct promotional code entered and initially funded with New Assets (as defined below) of $500.00 or greater are eligible for this cash offer. To qualify, you must enroll by entering the promotional code on new account application or request to enroll a new account, via telephone or email, with a TradeStation Representative. You must initially fund the Account with New Assets within 45 calendar days of Account enrollment. Your Account will not qualify for the cash offer if you withdraw or transfer assets from your Account, then redeposit them into the Account. Asset fluctuations (up or down) do not affect the calculation of Qualifying Assets. Minimum funding of $500 must be maintained through month following account fund date for first payment and through the next month for subsequent payment. The cash offer will be determined based on Qualifying Assets in the Account as follows: Less than $500.00 – cash reward of $0; $500 or more – 2 cash rewards of $75 (total of $150).
Cash reward will be paid out in monthly increments of $75. First deposit of $75 into the Account will be two months following the account fund date. Each subsequent credit will post in following month of qualification.”
I signed up with this code. My application will need to be reviewed but they already sent me two emails (one mentioning the $150) that I should fund my account. Interesting that they would already ask you to fund the account when the status is still under review when I log in.
just got my last $20 payment!
TradeStation is stupid and sketchy as hell but at least they pay unlike YieldStreet.. which is like fraud.
My bonus was missing because they say I moved the funds from one new account to another. There’s no record of it in the transaction logs, but they credited me after chatting with support. Side note, the support agent tried to tell me that you had to maintain over $500 regardless of asset value fluctuations and I had to quote the exact section of the terms to him.
Final $20 just came.
