Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
There is a $95 annual fee
Early Account Termination Fee
I didn’t see any mention of the EATF in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
The $95 annual fee kills the deal for most people, there is a $300 checking bonus and has been a $500 bonus in the past as well. I’d personally wait for a bigger offer to return.

How easy is it to use Sky Miles these days? Seat availability, pilot availability, and good ol’ fashioned value?
Very easy

Checking Account with a $95 fee! WTF
$95 fee for the privilege of getting 0.5x miles?!
Even the no-af Delta AmEx card destroys this.
Seems like a decent deal, 25k miles worth around $325 – 95 = $230, not bad for no deposit requirement. Might roll the dice on this one.
Don’t do it. They have a track record of devaluing the points/miles. This is a bait and switch scheme
Who is “they”? All airlines devalue their rewards programs eventually. Doesn’t make it bait and switch.
I wonder if they’ll send a 1099 and for how much.
Edit: Just saw there’s an annual fee (?!) Nevermind.
After the ordeal with account freezes/closures and fighting for $300 or $400 bonuses, I couldn’t imagine what kind of fiasco this is going to be with skymiles and AF. But I’m down to watch from the sidelines 😂
