• Mobiloil Credit Union is offering up to $400 in bonuses. Bonus broken down as follows:
  • $25 for completing credit score analysis at account opening
  • $25 for going paperless within 30 days
  • $25 for signing up for online access and downloading mobile app (must login to both within 30 days)
  • $25 for completing 3 snap deposits (within 180 days)
  • $25 for enrolling in bill pay (and processing 12 bills within 180 days)
  • $50 for receiving 5 direct deposits of at least $500 each (within 180 days)
  • $75 for completing 125 non-pin based Debit card transactions (within 180 days)
  • $25 for applying for and being accepted for MOCU credit card within 180 days
  • $25 for transferring balances totaling $2,500 or more (within 60 days of credit card opening)
  • $100 for getting a new personal loan of $5,000 or more)

The Fine Print

• All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

There is an early account termination fee of $100 if the account is closed within six months. Easiest account to keep fee free is the totally free checking account as this has no monthly fees to worry about.

Our Verdict

$150 of the bonus requires credit cards/new loans so it’s really only a maximum bonus of $250. Personally I think the requirements (e.g 125 debit card transactions and 12 bill pays and 5 direct deposits) are just way too much to seriously making this bonus worth considering. If you could get the full $400 without the credit cards/loans it might be worth it but I’d mark this as worth skipping.
