As rumored the U.S. Bank Altitude Go card is now live and accepting sign ups. The card breakdown is as follows:
- Sign up bonus of 20,000 points after $1,000 spend in 90 days (This offer is valid from 6/8/20 – 8/9/20)
- Card has no annual fee
- No foreign transaction fees
- Card earns the following rates:
- 4x on Dining and Takeout, including Food Delivery Services (examples include Grubhub, UberEATS, DoorDash, Caviar, BiteSquad, Delivery.com, Eat24, Postmates)
- 2x on Grocery, Gas Stations, and Streaming Services; includes Grocery Delivery and Meal Kit Delivery (examples of grocery delivery services include Amazon Fresh, InstaCart, Peapod, Shipt; examples of meal kit delivery include Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Freshly, Green Chef, Home Chef, Plated, Sun Basket)
- 1x everywhere else
- $15 free month of streaming for annual streaming services. Annual streaming credit works as follows: after 11 months of consecutive streaming service charges, the 12th month will get the $15 credit.
- You can combine different services, e.g. if you were subscribed to Netflix for 8 months and then to Hulu for 3 months, the following month of streaming will be credited back.
- Amazon Music, Apple Music, AT&T TV Now, Disney+, Google Music, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, SiriusXM, Slacker Radio, Sling TV, Spotify, Tidal, Vudu, YouTube Music and YouTube TV are all mentioned clearly to work.
- 0% intro APR for 12 months on purchases and balances transfers
- Instant card number upon approval which can be added to your mobile wallet immediately when you use text-to-apply. Text applications are only available when done through a banker, I suppose you can call a US Bank branch and try applying with a banker if this feature is important to you.
- Standard Visa Signature benefits.
Unlike the Altitude Reserve, you will be able to apply for the Go card even without any existing US Bank relationship. This card might be interesting due to the streaming credit, sign up bonus and 4x on dining and take out. Could also be used as a way to create a relationship with U.S. Bank to get the Altitude Reserve in the future. U.S. Bank will launch the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect card soon as well.
anyone tried PC to altitude connect? I have an old USB card and called them to see if they can PC that to Altitude connect, was told the only option is Visa Platinum and nothing else.
Wondering if they are any successful DPs
Old news…
I just converted this card to smartly. That’s what they want you to do. I also only received 2X points and got an email saying that’s an error and they are fixing it.
It is confirmed that those approved before September 9th 2024 are grandfathered to a no foreign transaction fee
Chuck
William Charles : Yes! Customers with established accounts prior to September 9 will not receive foreign transaction fees. I hope this helps. ^rh
Also note upcoming changes in April 2025 regarding cap of $2k/quarter on the 4X.
Show us your confirmation please? Do you have a letter from U.S. Bank with its letter head?
Igor
Dude, quit.
As first seen on Reddit, apparently the 4x on Dining is getting capped at $2k/quarter – https://www.myvisacardportal.com/usbankaltitude/en_us/welcome/details/A432444?card=altitudego&categoryName=upcoming_changes
Just noticed that this card comes priority pass even though it’s not advertised anywhere. Login to the app and scroll down to card benefits @chuck
The Altitude Go does not have Priority Pass.
Just a personal data point. I have been an existing Altitude Go cardholder for a few years now. I made 10 purchases abroad (Bali, Indonesia) on 9/16-9/17 before seeing this DoC post. All of the transactions have posted to my account WITHOUT foreign transaction fees. Not sure if the fees are assessed at statement close, but I won’t continue to use the card until we have some clarification on this.
Thanks Chris for your data point. You may want to product change to the no fee Altitude Connect card. They still don’t have foreign transaction fees and it’s even better without annual fee. Just call them
Chris
The Connect card’s GigSky benefit for cell data overseas is awesome. Have used it a bunch of times, works great. I don’t know of any other card with a similar benefit, not even with an AF.
I agree. Many U.S. Bank’s cards are underrated and overlooked. Do you think so?
02nz
Definitely. The Cash+ card is amazing for 5% on utilities, the Go and Connect are two of the best no-AF cards out there.
I applied for the 9th, the day the changes went into effect, and I swore I saw 25,000 points bonus. But today I got the card and activate it, and it shows by eligible reward bonus as only 20,000 points. Is this something I can call and dispute, or I’m I just SOL?
Try to call them to ask about it
Richard I wish you all the best
I was planning to snag this card. Kinda trash now.
Very snaky and unprofessional. They are already sort of killing their cards
They probably just forget to put together a nice email before sending it out…. I’m still excited about their Smartly card
