The Offer
- Get a new US Bank Cash+ or Cash 365 Amex card and receive $100 bonus after you spend $500 within 90 days
- Get a $25 bonus when you redeem $100 or more in a single transaction
This bonus is really for any Cash+ cardholder, not just new cardholder. We used to get the $25 bonus each time that $100 was redeemed in one transaction, but a while back they limited it to just one $25 bonus per account.
Since you’ll have $100 from the signup bonus, this is an automatic additional $25 bonus. Just make sure to do a single $100 redemption to get it.
The Fine Print
- To earn the one-time Customer Relationship Bonus, you must have an existing qualifying U.S. Bank product (5) in good standing when you apply, are approved for, and open the Cash+ Visa Signature Card, and spend $500 in net purchases within 90 days of account open date. Terms of this offer are subject to change. Please allow 6-8 weeks after you have met the account relationship and spend requirements for the Bonus to be credited to your rewards balance.
- Qualifying U.S. Bank products are: any existing U.S. Bank-issued Credit Card, U.S. Bank Checking or Savings Account, U.S. Bank Mortgage, U.S. Bank Home Equity Line of Credit, U.S. Bank Student Loan, or U.S. Bank Retirement Accounts.
Card Details
This card is unique in the 5% cash back category as it allows you to choose two different cash back categories out of a list of options. We rounded up the currently available categories in this post. You can earn 5% on up to $2000 in purchases per quarter in the two categories which you choose.
The card also earns 2% in one of the following categories: gas, grocery, restaurants, but that’s not too exciting.
Our Verdict
The $100 Cash+ offer comes up from time to time, although I don’t think we’ve seen it recently. In the past, this $100 US Bank relationship bonus has only been for in-branch card approvals on numerous U.S. Bank cards. They are now offering this for online approvals of the Cash+ card. They have a similar offer to get $100 bonus on the Cash 365 Amex card for online applications. (If you already got $100 relationship bonus, I don’t know if you’ll be eligible to get it again for approval of a different credit card.)
It’s not clear whether those who are only approved for the lower, non-Signature Cash credit card will get the $100 bonus as well. The terms indicate that non-Signature members will not get the $100 bonus, but it also has outdated info about the 5% categories not being applicable to non-Signature approvals which is no longer true (look at the actual terms of the card offer and you’ll see the updated terms). As such, it’s not clear whether the $100 bonus will work for non-Signature approvals.
If you don’t have any U.S. Bank credit card, you might want to start a relationship with U.S. Bank by taking advantage of the currently available $150 U.S. Bank checking bonus. I’d recommend finishing the checking account approval process completely, and then applying for the Cash+ card using your login, so as to ensure that they recognize you as an existing customer.
There’s also a chance that you’ll get an additional $50 bonus when doing the checking offer and applying for a U.S. Bank credit card, but it’s not entirely clear whether the $50 bonus will hit for credit card approvals which got a signup bonus; see the checking bonus post for more details.
Remember, that when applying for US Bank credit cards, it’s useful to freeze your IDA and ARS credit reports. It’s also worth reading 20 Things Everybody Should Know About US Bank Credit Cards before applying.

Would it be worth updating this post? Currently $200 sign on bonus.
https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/cash-plus-visa-signature-credit-card.html
“Cash back is redeemed in the form of a statement credit or a deposit made to your U.S. Bank Savings, Checking, or Money Market Account based on your designation, or as a U.S. Bank Rewards Card ($20 minimum redemption). You may not redeem Cash back, and you will immediately lose all of your Cash back, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, due to Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death).”
Does this mean one MUST have an existing US Bank savings/chkg or MMA in order to redeem rewards as statement credit?
The bonus is currently $150 after $500 in spend. I’m going to use it to become eligible for the Altitude Reserve.
Initially denied for this, but approved on first attempt at reconsideration.
After messaged them on Facebook, they confirmed the $100 is valid and updated the outdated info of the link. The new words suggests $100 on Visa card as well (Visa Signature not specified).
Any data points on if their amex cards post not as a cash advance with serve? there seems to be very little info about this.
I can’t remember off-hand. Check the Flyertalk wiki, might say something there.
According to USBank CSR, the bonus $25.00 after redeeming $100.00 + Cash Back rewards, the $25.00 bonus is paid with a debit card mailed to the Accountholder, who has no choice in the matter. I have finally built up and cashed $100.00 + Cash Rewards. I await the arrival of the debit card.
If I am only approved for a non-signature card. Are there ways to upgrade to a signature, without another account?
Thanks Chuck, your improving my life lots!
Never mind I asked a bad question. The thanks is still true!!!
Bummer, I just applied for this card a few days ago, after seeing your post about the checking account bonus offer. I applied before this offer came out, but my application is still pending.
Anyone know if US Bank will match sign-up offers?
Hmm, this is a relationship bonus so maybe you don’t even need to use a specific link? Not sure.

This offer has never gone, as far as I know..
As of last year, I think there was an ordinary $100 signup bonus, not relationship bonus. That expired at some point, and at some point they put out this $100 relationship bonus.
It’s possible that it’s been this way for some months already.
Does this one also have 5% even if downgraded to non-visa version?
Yup, all new Cash applications get the 5% categories now
