Our Verdict
Not huge changes but the 5% ticket discount could be useful for some people.
when does this promo end?
Holy God, those are the ugliest cards I have ever seen. USB is on a march to tilt all of their cards and make these messes regardless of good taste
Wait, didn’t the $450 AF card previously come with a $200/yr credit for air, hotel, or rental car, $100 on KAL, and two lounge passes a year? Seems like a pretty big devaluation.
The $200/yr credit for air, hotel, or rental car, and two lounge passes a year are still there. The $100 coupon became the 5% coupon.
Unless you fly Korean business class or a ton of economy card seems very meh
What’s not called out here is that there is actually alot more benefit when going on the webpage (for at least the SKYPASS Select Visa Signature version):
> $200 annual travel credit
> $100 TSA precheck/Global Entry credit
> 2 x KAL lounge (located for LA, Honolulu, NY, and in Incheon)
> 2 x $25 Duty Free coupons for purchase on flight (not valid at airport or online)
Let me know if I am seeing something incorrectly but this is a pretty decent list of benefit.
Who knew Korean Air had four credit cards in the US…
$450 AF but no lounges access? Hmmm.
Didn’t see mention of the lounge vouchers they previously gave out with some USB KAL cards so…maybe that ended?
Gone as well as the miles on renewal for the $95 cards.
what are the annual fees for each card?
$450 $99 $0 $99
Question is if downgrade are allowed
They are. Downgraded my select visa signature to the sky blue visa last year
Their business class is excellent and I saw last month numerous ICN-BOS and others for 62500 miles.
High surcharges though, just an FYI.
Korrect. FM states that By booking these flights with Korean Air rather than Delta you would save 60,000 miles but incur an additional $336 in fuel surcharges. An alternative approach you’d get 2x miles flying biz class, so you get back more miles if you pay for an UPGRADEABLE FARE and use miles for the biz upgrade. each mile e.v. is about 40 KRW +/-.
@4MouSeAirlines
Yes, but using miles on an upgradeable economy fare is still very expensive. You’re looking at least $3500 + 80K miles to upgrade it to business class for RT. Using miles-only is just 45K more (125K).
doesn’t look that bad according to their site which already significantly increased from beginning of 2022.
Yes but not Lufthansa-high.
