Our Verdict
10% isn’t a particularly strong bonus given the current market conditions, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see bigger discounts in the future. It’s made even worse by the fact that the 10% bonus expires after 120 days after being deposited (and is deposited 90 days after you make the purchase). The advantage of this deal is that it should code as a United purchase. Personally this is an easy skip.
Hat tip to Dans Deals
The bonus dollars received from this promotion were set to expire at the end of February. I expected the bonus to be deducted from my balance, but it seems as United extended expiration to July 2021. Does anyone else see the same?
10% offer is back: We’ll match up to 10% of the money you add to your account by December 9

Will have a post on this tomorrow
Accidentally purchased before I selected an airline… selected like 5 minutes after. Think I’ll have to do another purchase?
Posted today.
The fact that it triggers Amex airline credits is pretty huge even though the 10% bonus deal has expired, as it’s an easy way to use up the credit now.
The United TravelBank still triggers AMEX airline credits! I made a $100 purchase and received the credit a few days later.
Any DPs on whether TravelBank triggers Chase CC 15% offer? Worth it for me even without the gimmicky 10% bonus
A key point is that travelbank funds used to ONLY apply to United metal tickets. I was stuck with a credit for a long time due to this limitation several years ago when I wanted to use it for a A* partner booked through them. I can’t remember if mixed itineraries are allowed but I’m pretty sure that answer was also no.
Decent deal if it can be stacked with current chase offer for 15% back?
Has anybody tried to add fund to see whether it extends the expiration date of the fund currently sitting in your account? I have some money left in travelbank from previous contribution. Would like to have some DP if at all possible.
Had a 15% off offer through my Chase card as well as a trip ticketed in November, so thought I’d give it a swing to see it I could stack the offers. Will report back once the transaction clears Chase.
Thanks. I have the same offer so I’m interested.
Just received email 8/9 that the TravelBank purchase qualified for the 15% off, but noticed this deal expired on 8/5. For once being my own data point worked out…still haven’t figured out what I’m gonna do with that $250 Lowe’s GC…
15% credit applied to credit card statement 8/10.
