Reposting because the bonus is now live, we know it’s a soft pull and it’s also available those in WA as well.

Avoiding Fees
There is a $10 membership fee that is not avoidable. This account has no monthly fees to worry about. I didn’t find any mention of any early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Pretty good bonus, no monthly fees to worry about and pretty easy to hit the bonus requirements. Upside is that you can fund a little bit with a credit card as well. I’ve added it to the best checking bonuses.

DP: Received bonus of $100 within the last couple weeks. Opened in April and used $5K CC funding at the time.
Members – watch for EMAIL subject line: Get $50 for you and $50 for them when you refer a friend to Unitus Will report back if this stacks
Applied and application is in review, funding looks like it is now $2,500 per account. Funded $5k with CFU, we’ll see if it goes through. No mention of promo code this go around.
Applied today, mine went pending as well.
Let us know if that goes through. I’m definitely interested if I can do $5k CC funding
Denied due to chex (idk what my # is)
Extended until 4/30 William Charles Chuck

Deal is now $100?
Yup
Received my 1099-INT from UnitusCCU from participating in this promotion and the interest amount says $400 rather than $200. I’m going to call today about getting it corrected but thought I’d give others a heads-up in case the error is more widespread.
anyone successful open only online?
I completed everything online about a month or so ago. And yes, a very confusing online process it was. Had to email a couple of times to get the right account opened (opened the wrong one apparently) but with help finally worked out. All online. Also it did take a couple of emails and re-sending to finally get my debit card to make a purchase and complete the bonus requirements today. One of those banks that make you earn their bonus. Now just wait…
Just another DP of needing to show up in branch to complete the application (and being unable to do so due to locations only being in Portland). They won’t allow you to complete at partner credit unions or continue further online, either.
DP: I live in PDX and *thought* i opened online with $750 on my credit card over the weekend. process / website clunky but manageable. on monday got an email indicated i needed to log in to check secure message. message basically said i had to come in person with picture ID (similar to Superchurn). i went in yesterday. they had to redo everything manually… even though i had set up everything online (user name, passwords security question etc) had to start over. took ~20min in the branch plus more time at home to redo and double check everything (make sure you enable on line statements or will not get the bonus– its was not the default setting!). apparently the rep said it is common that the on line tool does not work. in my case it seemed the mix up was there was a field that asked for “previous address” (was like 13 years ago for me) in the online set up process and did not match something in system so flagged it? as others noted, they cannot use a credit card to fund in the branch (well they could but he said it would process as a cash advance for sure). not the worst experience for $200, but if you are local may just want to do in branch to avoid wasting more time. good luck.
sounds like my experience 100%
the most frustrating part is the lack of CC funding I was expecting 🙁
hi- just wanted to update with some data, based on my experience. My account was credited the $200 bonus on 12/1, so about 1 month after opening. I did both ACH and a payroll DD just to be safe (my DD is really easy to switch), so not sure which one triggered it but payed pretty quickly… like a couple days after meeting requirements, no waiting 120 (or even 90) days for sure. Thanks Doc for another quick/easy $200!!
DP:
Wife just applied, and the CU is now saying the limit is 1 per household.
Post may need to be updated to reflect this seemingly arbitrary limit if they’re enforcing it
Just checked, and now the small print at the bottom does indeed say ” Limit one #get200 entry per household. ”
They must have just added that
Just wondering if anyone who tried opening the account online was able to fully open / start using the account WITHOUT having to go into a branch? The nearest branch is very far from where I am in Oregon.
You might be able to open it over the phone in that case. They seemed very reasonable when I was in the branch, so that might be your best option.
Yes.
I applied 10/23 and the next day was asked via email to provide my work phone number (somehow missed that in the app) and a picture of my drivers license. Provided that info 10/25 and today received an approval and online logins to view my account.
Unitus is telling me they need some documentation (driver’s license, proof of residence) and that I must take it into a branch, that I cannot submit them digitally. Boo.
