Just letting everybody know that we have done an overhaul to the comment system. It may look different to before and you may notice new features and possibly some old features missing. If there is something missing (or added) that you don’t like please let us know in the comments below. This new system should hopefully allow for users to soon be able to create their own login to the site, eventually referral threads will be moved so that only users with an account can share their link to help limit referral abuse.
Features that will be added/removed:
Gray background showing again after a few commentsLoad more comment button not at the bottom of comments- Hide blank avatars
Remove fade out on comment id & user profile so that both are permanently displayedFix taggingPost title in email notificationsUpvoting is currently turned off, will be turned back on once unlimited upvoting has been fixedComments going off the screen will be fixed- Adding gray space between each comment to differentiate it

How do I create an account for referrals? test
DoC, I noticed today that a Comment search for a user’s name now shows zero results (other than comments that include that user’s typed-out name). I was searching for my own user name so that I could quickly find my old posts in this post: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/truist-300-checking-bonus-al-ar-ga-fl-in-ky-md-ms-nc-nj-oh-pa-sc-tn-tx-va-wv-or-dc/
The search results no longer includes user names.
Not sure if this is by error or by design.
You can still search by name, in the search box click the three lines next to it and select ‘author’ and it’ll show up.

If someone is Subscribed to a DoC page…. they no longer get a “New Reply” email if someone replies to their comment.
If someone is Not Subscribed to a DoC page…. they do get a “New Reply” email if someone replies to their comment.
In the old system, they would get both, a “New Comment” and a “New Reply” email, if the Bell 🔔 was enabled on the comment when submitted and Subscribed to a page. It reduces the amount of email this way, but I didn’t realize there was a change.
Not sure why it took me so long to figure this out, or if I missed the memo. The workaround would tag the person you are replying to ensure they get a notification.
