We reported on a $300 bonus for opening a Discover checking account and making two direct deposits. This offer continues until November 15.
However, sometime in the past few days, Discover added into the terms of the promo code that it’s a targeted offer and the bonus will only go for those who were invited.
Previously, this is what we were seeing:
DoC reader Tom contacted Discover and was told on November 4th that the terms were updated to make it a targeted offer. They also confirmed that those who applied before the then will receive the bonus after meeting the direct deposit requirements.
I am a little pessimistic now about ACH transfers working to trigger the direct deposit requirement since there may be additional scrutiny here. Hoping for the best!
