Our Verdict
There is a referral program but last time it didn’t stack. Always nice to see new nationwide bank bonuses, the direct deposit requirement of $2,000 for three months is a little annoying but still worth doing for a lot of people. We will add this to our list of the best checking bonuses.

Per phone call today – 1099 generated for savings interest only.
When I did this checking bonus last year, I was able to do a $5k deposit via a Mastercard CC (forget which one exactly), but had to call in to do the CC funding. I just opened a savings account online and then called in to do a CC fund, but the rep said they no longer offer card funding since they “enhanced” their system to make it easier for people to set up transfers and such themselves. Would be great if I just got a misinformed rep, but curious if anyone else can offer a confirmatory or alternate DP.
Any input on if you were able to get CC funding through ?
Just got off the phone with them asking about 1099. Gal looked up my account and didn’t see any forms generated. Then when I said this was for the $250 bonus, she told me she just looked into this for someone else the other day, and that for some reason forms were not generating for those bonuses. It’s possible they would have reported it on a 1099-MISC(uncommon but not unheard of for bank bonuses) and since it’s <$600 they don’t.
Use this information as you see fit.
Good DP and confirmation, thanks.
Looking at my notes, there are a few bank bonuses I’ve done over the years that simply don’t report the bonuses, for some reason. It’s uncommon but not unheard of.
This bank is a complete scam.
I attempted to do the bonus last March. My balance has been maintained since my real DD hit in March, but my first DD hit on the 28th, so they said I ‘did not meet the average monthly balance requirement for March, so that DD did not qualify, and you needed three months when your balance was over $500″. So, even though I met the terms of 3 DDs, they said I needed four DDs.
I filed a NCUA claim, but when I followed up on it, the bank only replied to NCUA, not me as required. So when I checked on it, it had been greater than 30 days since the bank replied (which I obviously did not know they replied), so all you can do is file a new claim as my claim was closed.
I am going to fight it on principle at this point, but this bank is horrible..
Because they’re incompetent. They responded to my NCUA complaint with a letter to me, — in which they also included their response to some other person’s NCUA complaint. I got two letters, in one envelope, and the other person lives seven states away. I’ll be sure to include this in my response.
Anyone else got a new targeted email from them for existing accounts to get $250 if you set up direct deposit of $2000 monthly for 3 consecutive months beginning prior to 12/31/23?
yes!
@SP @Benji I received it as well. Did either of you only earn a $50 or $100 checking bonus prior to the most recent $250. I had applied during the $50 promotion because I wanted to get a CC from them as well.
Do you have a checking or savings account, or both?

the only bonus I’ve received from them was the $250 “250 MyLife Checking Promo” back in May 2023
Counter DP. No. Did the $250 checking account offer a few months ago, opened in April, and had to have them manually post the bonus in August, even with real DD. Currently coasting with a $25 balance… Checking only. Anytime I’ve dealt with this credit union in the past it’s not been a very good experience overall.
Offering existing customers sweet bonuses is pretty rare… enjoy! Milk it!
The only thing they keep sending me is a survey…
“Last chance: 2 questions to improve your Digital Banking experience”
Pay me, and I will consider submitting it.
Yes. I did. Have been thinking about closing it. But now need to keep it open.
Same here, but now maybe this will be an annual thing, which would mean an easy bonus every year.
YES! I will start on Dec but my email also says “mantain average monthly balance of at least $500” or “25 debit purchases” for the same 3 months.
