Overall not bad for just a debit purchase with a minor issue with bonus paying out and bump with referral. Needed to nudge them by sending a SM on 1/13 to resolve. Used a referral code and added it to application from $100 promo page. Still need to pursue the $50 referral and P2 name only switched to ALL CAPS on 1/16, blue arch and no coin. Maybe it will post by end of mth?

Venmo reloads counted as transactions as I was doing both reloads and 50 cent chips/snacks at the store.
I got to the required amount before completing 10 of either of them.

If you SM they respond very quickly. Here’s what to expect:
“Good morning my name is [rep’s name] Bonus are posted with 60 days of account opening and as long as you have turned in the referral number.”

The fine print of the terms on the referral email states:
“All referral and account opening bonuses will be credited to the primary savings account at the end of the month when the qualifying account was opened”
The 60 days is how long you have to meet the requirements, not when the bonus is to be paid.

The quote you’re replying to is what a rep believes actually happens – not what she thinks the terms say. It’s typical of what to expect if you SM.

If you were expecting the bonus and it didn’t show up, recommend sending an SM about it with the code that you used (you should have that in your email inbox) and verify they applied it to the application.

My referral for P2 did not post and they had met the requirements in early December. This institution sucks ass! Repeated messages have been responded to with generic answers that they have opened a ticket and that it’s still in process. This is after a couple weeks of back and forth.
Their customer support reps are comically terrible. I’ve been back and forth for the past month with at least 4 different reps asking why I haven’t received my $100 cashback+ yet. I’ve been promised multiple times that it would arrive within the next couple of business days or sometime soon in the future. Still nothing. P2 should have received the referral bonus in early Dec from Nov acct opening and debits, but it never arrived. P2 messaged and specifically mentioned using my referral code and to make sure it was properly attached, but was told to wait 30 days. Now the early Jan batch of referral bonuses has come and gone and still nothing. I’m just about fed up and ready to file NCUA complaints for their incompetence.
mothman69 , I have had the same experience as you. I made an NCUA complaint yesterday. The messages I get from reps keep telling me they are working on it. My P2 and I have received the referrals finally but still not the cashback promo. This has definitely been a frustrating one.
Sounds like it’s time for NCUA indeed! I show the referral name and date for P2 in the Refer A Friend area of online banking from early November yet no check mark even after P2 did all of the required debit card purchases. Both of us have sent messages over and over to no avail. I’m done with them after the referrals plus another random Doc referral posts, assuming they ever do. I am thankful both P1 and P2 got the $100 Cashback+ after escalating that as well via secure message. Support says to keep checking back for an update on the ticket as if it’s my job to keep them accountable. LOL
All of the same issues and responses from reps for the past month, I’ll add though that my P2 was just told even though the account was opened Dec 2nd the referral code wasn’t applied until Dec 24th and that P2 has to repeat the debit card transactions then it’ll post. But P2 has repeated the debit card transactions, before Jan 2nd, and still nothing. No $100 or $50 bonuses despite qualifying multiple times. Between Langley, Zynlo, and Relay these banks have been horrible to deal with. Thankfully I haven’t had the Relay issues yet like others *fingers crossed*, but they are making up T&Cs for that bonus as well.
Update: They finally paid out this week. $100 cashback+ for P1 and $50 referral for P1 and P2.
I sent a message to Langley online 1/7/2025 about the referral bonus not posting. 1/9 they said a supervisor would review the account. 1/10 the $50 bonus posted to my savings account.
(I had over $1000 in High-Yield Savings since late November, and also did 10 debit card transactions after calling them in December to attach a referral code to my account since the code entered when opening the account didn’t get attached properly.)
Just spoke with a rep asking about why the blue coin hasn’t shown up for any of my referrals:
You: Ok why is the referral not showing a blue coin/$50 next to my name on my referrals list?
C: its beacuse you just opened the account and you wont see that until the beggining of next month
You: No I opened it December 5th. I completed the requirements this month.
“bonus posts beginning of following month after meeting requirements”
C: just spoke with our marketing team .you wont see that until the beginning of next month
You: The following month would be January
C: which is tomorrow more than likely it would possibly be deposited on thursday
You: For the referral?
It’s not showing it will pay out though that’s what I’m saying

I would recommend having the person who’s being referred contact through SM and ask them to apply the referral code. That’s what I did for myself and P2
The code was applied. Names went in all caps. Requirements met but no blue coin. The rep is saying the blue coin showing up is false and/or won’t happen until it’s literally about to pay. Confusing system.
From what I have seen, the blue coin distribution occurs sometime during the month, and that the coin updates the referral dollar-amount counter. That has to happen before the payout will occur on the 2nd of Jan.
But, it’s typical when asking how their system works is useless. They aren’t endpoint users.
All you can do is play the game, and probably once it’s overdue, they will act on it. Adipose
I spoke with that rep on P2’s account. Then I went to my account and chatted with another rep who, when I asked about whether the referral code and promo was attached to the account, proceeded to tell me they can’t tell me that. This was in regards to me referring my P2 and also myself using a referral code. He said they can only tell you if you completed the requirements or not and can not tell you whether anything is attached. So who knows, guess I’ll just have to wait despite the cashback+ was to pay out already; it’s been well over 10 days. I’ll bug them again next week I guess.
I’d recommend using SM (secure message)… the quality of rep seems better than chat (IMO).

I have contacted them via secure message as well. I chatted with them as a follow up to the secure messages. As of today nothing has posted for CashBack+ or referrals. No blue coins etc etc.
I also have a couple referrals that have not paid and one of them is my P2 who I know met the requirements. P2 sent secure message and had a ticket opened to get it fixed. I sent a secure message and CSR asked for the names that haven’t paid so I sent that info and am still waiting for an update. No blue check marks but the 3rd that I referred paid and has the blue check mark. If I recall it was checked for a couple weeks prior to paying.
Pro tip/Christmas gift: if you received multiple $100 Cashback+ bonuses and cashed them immediately, they’re yours to keep!
This bank has been frustrating to deal with. I used the debit card to pay my health insurance. They are now telling me because it coded as bill payment that it doesn’t count for a debit purchase. It seems like they are trying to get out of paying these bonuses.
They are also really slow walking in the referrals. P2 referred me, has the coin and $50 in the referral section and has not received anything. Definitely wishing I had not bothered with this bank.

Purchases were done earlier in November.
Just buy 10 grapes or something at the self checkout. If you want to be extra sure splurge for bananas. $0.49+ at POS is known to work.
Something is wrong and I have not received the $100 or $50 and neither has my P2. This bonus seems to work easily for some but not others. I will be contacting them again to try to make it right.
