Our Verdict
Nice discount if you plan to travel any of these routes anyway. Main problem is taxes & fees.
Upper Class fees from Miami are 995.00 per ticket.
I’d save it for US to Japan trip in ANA THE ROOM for 95k+ RT
Not everyone wants to go to Japan. There are other countries out there.
Not everyone wants to go to London. There are other countries out there.
Flights Between US & UK
More people just spouting back what youtubers say. They only release 1F/1J per flight and its difficult to get and not everyone wants to always do a trip to japan.
Did they discount the points and double the taxes between Uk and USA?
Are discounts available if it’s US-UK-elsewhere or has to start and end in either US or UK?
taxes kill it, otherwise a good deal
Its not really taxes. Its huge fees they tack on as if they are taxes. Same goes for the return flights. The UK does have a high ticket tax on Upper class. But Virgin marks it way up.
10,000 points roundtrip from nyc to london
500 in fees tho lawd.
Isn’t it $300? technically speaking the 10k pts is 2-3 cpp to LHR from USA rt.
Actual discount seems to only be applying to flights after April 16
Note: Only for flights between US and UK. Wasted time checking many other routes before realizing this….
I think you still get a benefit if the layover is in UK. I saw SFO to BOM in September that was 45k for PE, down from 65k when I booked literally last week.
They’re just discounting the US to UK leg.
