Our Verdict
Problem with Virgin Atlantic is always the fuel surcharges and this discount doesn’t really help with that unfortunately. 50% off the fuel surcharge would be much more useful.
Hat tip to FM
Holding a fare sale in the midst of a pandemic. Shame on Virgin Atlantic. People need to stay home until this is all sorted out. And if you do travel for “pleasure” then you should be made to sign a waiver stating that you agree to forgo all rights to medical care if you contract COVID-19.
Where do I sign up?

Given you can book for flights until October 2021 I don’t see the issue. It is easy enough to cancel an award booking for $50 and VS is often not even charging that right now. Given the news on vaccines I suspect travel in the 2nd half of 2021 may be safe so I don’t see the issue with booking an easily cancelable reservation.
Virgin Atlantic is actually offering Coronavirus insurance until (at least) the end of April.
1 – Some people are gonna fly no matter what, so…
2 – I would think most that book this promo are for next summer or fall. It would be for me. Trouble is those damn cash surcharges.
Should people who leave their homes for “pleasure” be made to sign a waiver stating that they agree to forgo all rights to medical care if they contract Covid-19? How about half work and half pleasure? How would you even know the reason why anyone is going anywhere?
No
