Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
A $20 fee is charged if the account is closed within 180 days according to this fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Not nearly as good as the recent $300 bonus that didn’t require a direct deposit. I’d recommend waiting for a better bonus to return so we won’t be adding this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

Does the criteria “Have a membership establishing savings account” mean you need open both a checking and savings account to get the bonus?
Last year, online application denied due to Chex and told to apply in branch.
Any DP for credit card funding for in-branch applications?
Began app from OOS, but could not get past ‘how are you eligible’ must live in WA, OR or ID, or attend school/work in WA
Uh-oh, lost in the woods?
Sorry we’re unable to find that page… what you’re looking for isn’t far away! Let’s get you back on track.
Clicking “Direct link to offer” leads to a dead page.
Looks like the terms have changed significantly since this post was originally made. It now requires “No Gesa Membership” within the past 2 years, rather than no checking account within 90 days.
Denied due to Chex. Haven’t done any new account offers in a while so seems to be highly sensitive. Opening in branch apparently bypasses that.
William Charles Chuck Offer is back https://www.gesa.com/promotions/limited-checking-offer/
I was rejected due to Chex last time I applied online but was told I could come in branch to apply
Credit card funding appears to be no longer available for new accounts
I opened Gesa account on 6/11 and complete all requirements within 30 days. This offer was active at that time but was pulled back in a week after 6/11. Now Gesa is refusing to pay saying this offer was never active after 31st March.
Same situation. Opened account on 6/6.
Edit: I spoke with a supervisor and escalated the case. The bonus was deposited today in my savings account.
