Reader Matt reached out to let us know that physical Walmart gift cards are now being sold outside of Walmart. CVS has been spotted with the variable-load ones ($15-200) on the gift card racks, and that likely means these gift cards are found at other stores too.
Walmart gift cards value isn’t the highest at the moment due to the ability to buy these on Pepper (even at a nice discount). This new store availability is another way of getting a good deal on Walmart gift cards if you can find worthwhile angles (AmEx Offers, Chase Offers, Rakuten in-store, Dosh, fuel points, credit card categories, etc).
Walmart gift cards can be used at Walmart, Walmart.com, Sam’s Club, Samsclub.com, and on Walmart gas.
My guess is they’re trying to copy Amazon here and increase the presence of their gift cards. This will likely suppress the resale value of Walmart gift cards in the long term.

My Pepper app doesn’t offer Walmart gift cards. Are the offers targeted or is Walmart no longer available for anyone on Pepper?
sam’s club gift cards should work at sam’s or walmart (and vice-versa, walmart gift cards work at sam’s)

And why’d you? It’s always cheaper to buy membership through groupon or with offers, also easier to rotate new members vs. Costco that are very strict and may refuse paying the gift card bonus.
I tried to renew my subscription in Sam’s using a gift card and they told me no. I had let the subscription lapse by a few weeks. Maybe that had something to do with it??

At my Staples locations you have to buy those fee free within the first 30 minutes they’re open on Sunday so I’d rather they just stock Walmart GC for anytime purchase.
Best deal now for their cards is to buy with Paypal and use the 5% offer and then stack with a Chase Freedom. You have to order physical cards and have them delivered. Digital won’t work with paypal.
You can literally buy digital WM giftcards directly from PayPal’s own giftcard store. They’re capped at $100 increments though
The PayPal 5% cash back is for shopping at Walmart. You get 5% from PayPal and 5% from Chase. If the Chase 5% PayPal is maxed out, you can do 5% from PayPal and AMEX Blue Cash (maybe others?) which gives you 3% for Walmart.com orders so that would be a still very nice 8%.
Not that I am aware of. If you go to the offers page, there’s a link to the terms. These expire either on the expiration date that it tells you or as soon as you use it. It tends to come back again after you use it so just gotta go back in and activate it again.
Any suggestions for websites where to buy the Walmart gift card for an exact value or discounted such as Pepper, GCX, Raise, TCB gift card page, etc? I don’t shop at Walmart that often, but getting an exact value card or a discounted card could be a benefit instead of buying a full value card and having a carryover balance.
Also, what is the difference between the GCX app and the Raise app/site?
Since the Walmart gift cards at CVS are variable, you can get them there. I got a few using the Chase offer for 10% back up to $5.
Which CVS have you seen WM cards? Been to a couple in Northern NJ and NYC and have seen them yet

Walmart allows exact value purchases on both physical and eGift store cards. Value range of $5 to $500.

Yes, it has been possible to stack Amex offers and Paypal offers on top of credit card rewards for Walmart gift cards.
The reusable 5% back at Walmart Paypal offer expires 1/8/2025. You should try buying a gift card from Walmart and paying with your BofA card via Paypal for 10.25% back.
