Walmart+ week mystery deal revealed:

Get 6 months of PP+ with Showtime free for 6 months, no additional cost.

Not a great mystery deal they’ve been publicizing but I suppose if you need it…

Why do they keep pimping Walmart+ InHome?

“Get orders delivered & put away into your kitchen or garage by a trusted Walmart Associate. All with no extra fees & tips included! Plus, enjoy all the other benefits that Walmart+ offers.
Only an additional $7/month, or $40/year, after trial for Walmart+ members

It must be a joke, right? Who needs that? I don’t trust any of these so called trusted associates.

Only reason I have Walmart+ is for InHome. It is the cheapest delivery option for groceries by far. Beats instacart, kroger delivery & any other delivery service you can think of. No tipping, walmart employees deliver to your door and easy returns in case you don’t like it. I think it is way underpriced.
If you don’t trust the associates, you cannot trust them for grocery pickup either.

It’s been great for me. We get at least one delivery a week and not having to tip is awesome.

Me, too. I use it about twice a wk just to get my money’s worth. No tipping is a plus.

John I also wouldn’t want them in my home, but you can have it delivered to your door, which is what I do. I also don’t do services like DoorDash, but I tend to trust Walmart employees for this service since they know upfront that they’re not getting a tip. So, I don’t have to worry about someone tampering w my food bc I didn’t tip. Also, if you choose to have them deliver inside your house, the delivery is recorded and you can see it online.

I was referring to Walmart InHome. They give you the option to have them just leave it at your door. From my acct settings: “InHome preferences … Delivery location Doorstep Your associate will knock before dropping off your order.”

I don’t follow all this talk w.r.t. not having to tip. Is that something specific to Walmart+ InHome? You can also not tip with regular Walmart+, just put $0 as tip.

Supposedly Walmart In Home’s monthly fee is designed to cover everything, including tips. While you don’t HAVE to tip anywhere, some do feel it’s important.

Get groceries & more delivered where you want it, with no added fees, tips or markups.

Got it. So they ask you to pay extra for this W+ InHome tier for people who are guilted into tipping employees of large corporation just because the tip option is there and set to non-zero by default.

The regular deliveries are through hub economy workers, not walmart employees, where you would tip similar to doordash or uber eats. Walmart+ InHome is delivered by a full time walmart employee, in a walmart vehicle. Much more trustworthy than some rando delivering your order. Though I always do front door delivery, Id never let someone into my house

Bingo! The InHome service is an actual Walmart employee, being paid according to those pesky wage laws and scales… as opposed to a gig worker who is probably losing money on the job if you don’t tip.

As far as security, I have a fridge in my garage, and a security camera. Super helpful service.

We use it every week. It was a game changer when we first brought our newborn son home from the hospital. With no sleep, it was nice to have someone show up and bring in the groceries. We’ve gotten to know the main delivery folks in our area. One even brings a treat for our dog. 🙂

If this was available in our market, I’d pay for it in a heartbeat. If I recall correctly, you typically get the same delivery person every time, and they wear bodycams from before they enter your house until after they leave, and you can live stream it, or play it back on-demand. As a parent of 2 kids under 2.5, this would be extremely valuable and a huge time saver. WM+ is already well worth it for door delivery, inside the fridge/pantry would be even better. For $40/yr extra, it would be a no brainer for us. To each their own.

IIRC you have a code in the Walmart app to scan at the pump

You go to a participating Exxon or Mobile station and do the normal process of getting the Walmart+ discount. I haven’t tried it at one yet, since I don’t think the Exxon in my town participates, but I believe the app generates a QR code for the pump to scan. If not, it may be like at the Murphy station where you have to enter a code the app generates. The code changes over time, so you can’t share it.

I use it pretty frequently. You go into into the Services Tab. Under Walmart+ Benefits, click “member prices and fuel”. You scan the QR code on the pump itself to identify the station, you enter the pump number into the app and viola. The pump will unlock and you can start fueling.
