Update 8/7/19: I’ve seen a recent uptick about complaints regarding blog content so thought that this was worth repeating.
Readers often complain about the content on this site. More specifically one common complaint is that readers only want credit card or bank account posts. Generally we see more of these complaints during/after big sale events such as Black Friday or Prime Day as there are a lot more ‘deal posts’. This blog was originally set up to provide information on credit scores, then we expanded to credit cards then bank accounts and so on. I think it’s a natural evolution of the blog, but I also try to listen to readers to provide the best experience possible.
The Solution
Each category on this site now has it’s own individual RSS feed. This means that if you only want to see bank account or credit card posts, you can! Follow these steps:
- Choose an RSS feed reader. I personally use Feedly (it’s free)
- Add the categories you want. To do so get the category URL and add feed to the end, for example for credit cards the feed URL would be:Â https://www.doctorofcredit.com/category/credit-cards/feed. Here are some of the more common categories people will be interested in:
Adding new feeds on Feedly should be easy, just click add content in the lower left corner, then ‘publications & blogs’ and then enter the urls found above. You can find the URL for any category by clicking the green header on the home page.
Obviously this isn’t a perfect solution and readers will likely still see content they are not interested in, but it should help somewhat. We always try to write descriptive as possible titles to avoid wasting anybodies time. I personally don’t think it takes long to scroll through the titles each day to see what posts interest you, but at the same time this is obviously something that annoys readers so I am hoping this solution works for them. As always I/we are always open to constructive criticism on how to make this site better and I/we appreciate that sort of feedback. If there is anything else that could be changed/fixed (yes I know the site still looks awful) let us know in the comments.
What if we want all the content for our RSS feed? What would be the URL instead of adding 4 different ones?

While the individual feeds are working, the catch all feed appears to be broken:
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/feed/
Seems to be working for me in Feedly.
Seems to be working ok now?
Yes, it’s working again. Thank you
No problem, appreciate you letting us know it wasn’t work
I like the variety of posts. I originally came here for credit card news and never would have even thought about bank account signups had it not been covered here. I’ve taken advantage of a few other deals, too. Really appreciate the work you guys do.
If there is a specific post type you want to exclude from the feed, check out siftrss.com. It lets you filter feeds by keywords. You can run a feed through many times to get it just right.
I suffer from FOMO so I look at everything 😀
Some people are too high maintenance. They have trouble scrolling past content? Love your site and I accept the fact I do not like all the site. Cheers Dr. William C!
Thank you for all the hard work. I understand that some people might want to reduce the content they are seeing to what they are interested in.
I personally sometime interested on things in all categories but sometimes in deals I am not interested in small deals.
Is it possible to filter by region? That would help reduce some posting to what is actually useful.
Happy and grateful for all the content you provide, even it was what you had for breakfast 🙂
Love the site, thanks for everything!
Appreciate all content here! You guys are a great mix of bonuses and deals!
I cannot agree more with midas89. Thanks to the entire DoC team for all you do.
