The Wayfair Credit Card is issued by Comenity Bank (full list of their cards can be found here). This isn’t a traditional credit card, it’s more of a store specific card as it can only be used at Wayfair, Joss & Main, AllModern, Birch Lane, DwellStudio, and Wayfair Supply stores.
Card Basics
- $40 off your first order of $250 or more (cannot be combined with any other offer, including interest free financing offer
- Special Financing on Orders Over $500, you pay on interest if paid in full within 12 months.
- Card earns rewards points that can be redeemed for rewards dollars
- Shopping cart trick works for this card
You cannot earn rewards points and receive special financing, it’s one or the other. For some reason they also give you no information on how many points this card earns and what those points are worth in terms of rewards dollars (even in the long terms and conditions).
Final Thoughts
A few readers have asked for a review of this card, I’m not exactly sure why as it isn’t terribly exciting at all. If anybody knows what the rewards structure on this card is, please let us know in the comments below.
READ THE FINE PRINT! The $40 off offer pops up at the end of your transaction but I never noticed there was a minimum purchase amount to receive the offer. Not a big deal except it’s impossible to get customer service on the phone to answer your questions. This post gave me the info I was looking for.
Wayfair and overstock sct worked but both did a hard pull overstock hard pulled experian and wayfair hard pulled Equifax
hard pull on equifax with last four shopping cart trick
HARD PULL ON EQ….GRRRR
Wayfair does now tell your potential $reward$ earnings, right when you add item(s) to your cart it tells (for instance) “with this purchase you will earn $6.50 in reward….so, yes Wayfair does tell how much your $Reward$ amount would potentially be before you actually buy your item(s). i just did the wayfair SCT, got the pre-approval pop-up, entered last 4 of SSN, and got approved for $6.5k. when i called comenity, one CSR said it was a hard pull with equifax. another said it would be a hard pull with all 3 credit bureaus!! i didn’t want to tip them off about the SCT so i’m hoping the CSR was wrong.
now that i’m searching “wayfair sct hard pull” i’m seeing a ton of reports that it’s a hard pull. wish i had read these comments first or frozen my credit reports. the whole point of the SCT is to bump my credit score (decrease utilization) without a hard inquiry. looks like the wayfair SCT is always going to be a hard pull.
called the credit bureaus:
equifax: hard pull
transunion: no hard/soft inquiry
experian: no hard/soft inquiry
FYI – wayfair SCT will result in a HARD pull with equifax.
Only requested the last 4 on mine and was not a hard pull. I also got Vs and New York and co and fingerhut with Sct none hard pulls
only asked for last four but hard pull on equifax
got this card back in early summer. shopcart as i thought, but… a hard pull somehow.
read the application terms, and indeed they say it would be a hard pull, even without my social?! good job somehow
This…is a really important DP. It should be mentioned on the “shopping cart trick” post!
