Yes! All the transfer partners are the same, and same rates!

Can’t link Avianca LIfemiles & BA Avios due to WF website error… Buggy & amateurish.

It remains to be seen whether points can be transferred between cards and between accounts. In the past, I’ve transferred points from my wife’s Autograph to my Visa Signature so I could use them to buy flights at 1.5 cents/point. I think I’ve also transferred points from a business card to my personal Visa Signature. If points are easily transferable, it makes little difference which cards have transfer partners.

As far as I can see, they haven’t changed how you can transfer between cards. I still see a way to transfer between all my cards.

I can move from my Active Cash to my Autograph and then transfer. I’ve tested with BA and the transfer was instant. Had to do so on the website, the app is trash when trying to transfer.

Months ago like half of the readers on here knew there was going to be nothing big coming out of WF and the other half thought that a miracle was going to come through.

This is not ready for prime time. I just tried to link my British Airways account, my Choice Privileges account, and my flying blue account, and they all errored out stating they were unable to be linked. All of these have linked perfectly with other transferrable currencies including American Express, Chase, and Capital One.

I tried seeing if my former Wells Fargo Biz Platinum (now Signify) had the ability to transfer to partners, but it doesn’t look like it.

No one said ever that any card other than the two Autographs will have transfers.

Straight from Wells Fargo’s press release on 3/6/24:

“Introducing Points Transfer
Points Transfer is a new online rewards redemption option for all points‑based Wells Fargo‑branded credit cards, including Autograph and Autograph Journey.”

The press release stated for ALL points-based WF cards, and the Business Platinum is a points-based credit card. It also says “including” the Autograph cards, which does not exclude other cards from receiving the ability. I had hoped that they would allow it for the Business Platinum, but they didn’t (at least for now).

That’s the price they pay for being early adopters of an immature product.

They knew what they were signing up for though? They announced what the parters were before the application was open

Domestically Choice still crushes for booking rooms for major events (sports, concerts, etc) if you just need a no-frills place to stay.

I like to use Choice for stays at my alma mater for home games when the cheapest rooms in town climbs from <$100/night to no less than $600/night (before tax) and nearly all hotels require two consecutive nights at that rate. I can get a Choice hotel for 8k-16k a night.

Internationally there’s more luxury value too. My most recent redemption was a night in Venice Italy at the Choice Aquarius – Ascend. I redeemed 20k for a 2 bed 2 bath suite with a balcony for 20k/night that was going for about 700 Euros/night at the time. I transferred from Citi so I only spent 10k TY on the stay.

These are good redemptions even 1:1, but 1:2 is literally a steal.

There are shortcomings though. First, for lower-tier spots, they really don’t do a good job with quality control so it’s a case by case basis if you’ll end up at a place that the property manager let go to pot (aka, read reviews first). They also have a strict rule that you cannot make a points booking more than 90 days out, and many hotels don’t allow free cancellation up to 24/48 hours before your stay (another case-by-case basis). Plus, not dissimilar to other programs, you need to dig a little for value; they’re not all winners, but I’ve had better luck finding gems with them than many major programs, and with so many transfer options and favorable ratios, they are climbing up my list.

Great post Drew. Choice is arguably the most underrrated hotel chain in the miles and points space.

I appreciate the Aquarius recommendation too. Will be staying 3 nights in Venice in early October…will set a calander reminder to book when it’s 100 days out (not 90, per https://www.choicehotels.com/choice-privileges/redeem-points/free-nights ).

Great post. I agree that Choice can present good value (and particularly at 1:2). One thought – if the WF Autograph basic card transfer to Avianca and to Choice at 1:2, those (for me) are the two best transfer partners for TY points. Downside for Citi is that you can only transfer if you have the Citi Premier, which has an annual fee. The Autograph appears to cover the important Premier 3x categories except for grocery. I recognize that everything is buggy right now, but if/when WF’s interface and integration is ready for primetime, might not the WF autograph basic at $0 annual fee be a better value proposition? Interest in your (or anyone’s) thoughts.
