Update 3/31/23: There is now a F.A.Q and it seems the whole Propel line is being discontinued.
Original post: Wells Fargo has informed Propel cardholders that they will be transitioned to the Wells Fargo Autograph card on 05/24/2023 and the existing card will be deactivated on 08/04/2023.

Re rewards conversion: I have a WF points rewards account (combined Propel and Autograph) and a WF cash rewards account (Active Cash). My Propel card converted to another Active Cash on 8/9 and my unredeemed Propel points were converted to cash rewards at 0.01/pt. I assumed with the open Autograph card my points were settled there. I don’t have a WF signature visa travel card so this conversion isn’t any potential loss for me, just unexpected.
Is there any reason to keep the Propel card until after they transition? My wife’s Propel is being switched to Active Cash. I have a BoA card that pays 2.625%, so another 2% card isn’t very interesting, plus there’s no SUB when they switch (though I’m not sure if Active Cash’s $200 SUB is worth a hard pull and a 5/24 slot). I haven’t figured out how it would affect average age if she cancelled.
Looks like a new round of transitions. Didn’t receive any notification yet but see a popup on login to online account. Amex Propel transitioning to an Autograph Visa on 8/21 with old card being deactivated on 11/3.
I was served notice about a switch after signing in to my Active Cash card on the WF app. It said I was going to be switched over to the Autograph card. I like the 3 points on gas and restaurants because I get an extra point there plus that’s where I spend most. I don’t like the everything else 1 point. I have a 1.5% rewards off my Capital One card that I can use for my everything else. I juggle cards and am pretty apt at getting maximum rewards. Maybe I will be spending enough on the C1 card to get a CLI. It’s a close call to being an even trade for me. I’m awaiting the card here in the next few days.
The rewards department did transfer my points from my Active Cash back into my Signature rewards balance.
Purchase of a $50 Delta Gift card no longer triggered automatic credit.
No letter or online notice that card will be forcibly converted yet.
I did previously see some online (and by letter) offers to convert the card though… Gone from online banking now.
I did mine as United TravelBank 100 dollars yesterday and it still counted
Huh? The Propel used to give some kind of free credit?!

If your account doesn’t show a notice when logging in, you won’t get transitioned this time around.
I did not yet receive the letter, but I went ahead and closed my Propel card anyway. I am interested in the Autograph and will apply for it at some point to get the SUB. Not yet though, I’m planning on applying for the US Bank Altitude Reserve this fall so I need to avoid opening new accounts for a while.
I have had my Altitude Reserve card since 2018. Not sure how stringent US Bank is at checking credit card application history, but I opened another credit card not 3 months before applying for Altitude Reserve and was approved without any fuss.
I opened my Autograph card late last year (before news broke of Propel lines being closed). I didn’t meet the sign-up bonus spending requirement, but a few days after I missed my deadline there came a letter from WF. That letter said that due to card material shortage, some account holders encountered delays in receiving their cards, so I was given three more months to meet the spending requirement. I wasn’t going to let my second chance slip by this time!
Who is Mary Wells? According to Wikipedia Henry Wells’ (2nd) wife was named Mary Prentice. Also wondering why they are changing the long standing “Henry Wells” branding.
Some Propel cardholders are transitioned to the 2% cashback “Active Cash” card
The transition to Active Cash sounds weird because I’m being transitioned off the Active Cash to the Autograph card. Any word from those who got transitioned to the Active Cash card??
