White House Partners With Uber & Lyft To Offer Free Rides To/From Vaccination Sites (Up To $100 Value)

The White House has partnered with both Uber and Lyft to offer free rides to and from your vaccine appointment.

Uber offer | Lyft offer

  • Uber is offering free rides to all those going to get vaccinated. Beginning today, four free rides (up to $25 off each) are available in your Uber app through July 4.
    • Terms: Up to $25 off each ride, up to four (4) UberX or WAV rides per person to and from eligible vaccination sites between 6am and 8pm, daily; Each of 2 round trips must be 3 weeks apart, between 5/24/2021 and 7/4/2021 only. See app for other terms and conditions.
  • Lyft is offering free rides to all those going to get vaccinated. Beginning today, get free rides (up to $15) each way, to and from vaccination appointments.

Uber has the higher $25 limit, so you’ll definitely want to go that route if your ride is longer. The Uber offer ends July 4th; I can’t find a clear end-date for the Lyft offer.

Nice savings here and can really help those who don’t have easy access to a vaccination site.

Only Uber is capped. Adding promo code LYFTVACCINE reduced my fare from $16 to $1. I shortened drop-off by a few blocks, with intentions of walking, and my fare was $0, which still requires credit card verification. At the pub, I got all the ‘medicine’ I needed, and by that I mean a heavy dose of facts.
Lyft and Uber have been in negotiations with Biden team before he took office to federally fund vaccination transportation. Now medicaid recipients can either get a part of their rides paid by Lyft/Uber or choose the entire amount of their rides be fully paid by government healthcare funded by taxpayers. It is no coincidence that last month was the roll out of Lyft Pass for Healthcare and expansion of Uber Health. Recall, it was posted here on DoC, that Lyft and Uber gave free rides to pro-Biden cities for votes in battleground states. Tech companies paid money to elect the president so now its time to demand their quid pro Joe.

4 days after my 2nd dose trip where I had to take a Lyft.
Insult to injury – the trip cost was double than usual when I took the trip.

Hopefully no one is unethical enough to use this to head to the nearest Walgreens from the bars

If the alternative is driving themselves, I’d say it’s pretty ethical.

First, I snitched on my neighbour because they offered to cut my lawn; then I snitched on my wife’s boyfriend because I think she deserves a better one.

I would like a reimbursement for my out-of-pocket Lyft rides to vaccination site.

It just so happens they were both big Biden supporters. Total coincidence. Interesting that the WH isn’t offering free mass transit rides…no donor money in that.

They donated money to Biden so that they can donate rides to people getting the vaccine?

I dont know, maybe because people are about 100x more likely to take a private car ride than hop on a bus full of potential covid carriers? Next time try using your brain.

Ask your local or state governments why they aren’t making free public transportation available. Uber and Lyft are public companies with broader reaches. Or just look for a reason to complain about something that could save lives for purely political reasons.

Be the datapoint I want to see!

And let us all know if you have side effects, because if you get laser vision I’m totally in.
