Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
First class checking account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find an early account termination in the fee schedule
Referral Bonus
There is also a $50 referral bonus for both parties. Last time Wings Financial offered a bonus the referral bonus and the main bonus stacked. Do not share your referrals in the comments below, you can share them in this linked posted instead. Some discussion on linking the promotions here.
Our Verdict
Previously there was a $200 bonus that didn’t require a direct deposit or a $300 + $50 bonus that did require a direct deposit. This bonus is worth doing if you can easily complete the direct deposit requirement and don’t mind the hard pull. We will add this to our list of the best checking bonuses.

I just got my CIU and I’m trying to maximize my CC funding with Wings. Which accounts should I open? It sounds like all 4 would make the most sense for $1,500 each account for a total of $6k.
Am I thinking about that correctly?
Yes, just make some “normal” purchases first with your CIU, just to be on the safe side.
Does amazon reloads or cashapp count for the PIN or signature-based transitions?
How long does it take to receive the $100 visa after making the debit card transactions?
This is not churnable?
5. New members and new recipients only:
a. Cannot have been a previous member (owner of a Primary Share account) of Wings Financial Credit Union within 12 months of promotional account application.
b. Cannot have previously received a new account bonus.
25k for $200 bonus to be kept until 2/1/2025 is not wortth it
they have a savings acct that offers 4.75% apy, that plus a relatively short holding period (you just need to open savings within 60 days of membership and then hold through 1/31/25). the offer period ends 10/31/24 so you would need to start your membership by then, 60 days later is already late december so you could hold funds there as little as a month or so and still meet the requirements. even if you hold $25k there for 3-4 months, the 4.75% you earn plus the $200 bonus puts you at over 7% apy on that money for the time you need to keep it in the account.
Is it churn able? I did this offer before last year or two.
In light of new bonus, does opening a new account for existing member result in a new Chex pull? In other words, if checking is opened first then savings within 60 days, will I receive two Chex pulls? Thank you!
I received my Debit Card for Wings CU yesterday and it won’t activate. Should I wait for the PIN in the email to activate the card or should I call their CSR?
Wings CU mails the PIN in a separate envelope.
I do not remember the case for Wings CU, but other credit unions may allow you to activate the card before you receive the PIN. If it needs the PIN for Wings CU, you may try calling them to activate the card if you are in a rush, which had worked for me for a few banks. Wings
(renewed) They are running referral bonus of $100 for both parties

Datapoint, i got a hard pull via Experian back in 2022. just noticed it.
They are running referral bonus of $100 for both parties
Nice. Just a friendly reminder that existing members are not allowed to do CC funding. Please make sure to open more accounts (e.g., their 2 checking accounts and 2 savings accounts) in one application if you want to maximize the CC funding as a new member.
Based on the email they sent out, this $100 referral bonus seems to end on 06/30.
