Wyndham Now Offering Status Matches & Challenge

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Wyndham is now allowing elite members from other hotel programs to match their status to Wyndham. You’ll be matched for 90 days and you can maintain that match through the end of the following calendar year by completing the following requirements:
    • Platinum: Stay 7 qualifying nights in 90 days to keep your platinum level
    • Diamond: Stay 14 qualifying nights in 90 days to keep your platinum level

Our Verdict

Probably a good idea to just wait until you could actually use the status/complete the challenge before actually matching.

oh geez. first hilton. then hyatt. now wyndammit.

all status turning into asbestos pesos. last man standing is marriott PP which thankfully requires legit stays.

as i always say -> when everybodys diamond. nobodys diamond.

real diamonds are not intrinsically rare…yet people pay a pretty penny for a little shiny rock. the masses are easily fooled. (many) soldiers will die for meTal, or sorry I meant meDals. Or the glow of pride. So yeah…people love labels…whether they mean anything or not.

Does anyone know if I get TR diamond through matching now, will I be able to get the 100 dining voucher and monthly free show tickets for 2018? Thanks!

Is this a permanent or limited-time offer?

I think the move is to status match to La Quinta and then since Wyndham has completed their purchase of La Quinta you can then update from La Quinta Returns Gold/Military Gold or Elite/Military Elite status to a Wyndham Rewards GOLD or PLATINUM membership without the stays within 90 days.

La Quinta (which now gives you automatic Wyndham status) has been giving unrestricted status matching. If I wanted Wyndham status, I would go via La Quinta, not direct.

Yes but via La quinta route , you can get max platinum and not diamond status

Hmm… and then if during your 90 days you match to Total Rewards, I wonder how long that would last.

if you can match to Total Rewards diamond status during the 90 days, after the 90 days, you can match back to Wyndham diamond, it will be too good to be true. everyone will be dual TR and Wyndham diamond status.

it is up to TR not to allow matching temporary Wyndham diamond status during the 90 days to TR diamond. TR might be too dumb to know it.

Doc what do you think about what grace said?

doc would say anything is possible and there are no guarantees. any loophole will be fully tested by the reddit community. then TR will execute wats called a “devaluation” like they did in 2017 which is why non-gaming peasants can no longer use the diamond lounge…

Yea, too good to be true.. Just like the idea Mlife and Hyatt would ever let you keep matching status back and forth between them..

oh wait they do 😉

Worth the risk (what risk?) here to match and see if it comes to fruition.
