Wyndham has announced a change to status earned through credit cards:
Beginning February 1, 2025, Wyndham Rewards cardholders will no longer be able to match their Wyndham Rewards PLATINUM and DIAMOND Member Level obtained as a result of being a cardholder (as opposed to earning their member level through stays) into the Caesars Rewards program.
Currently the Business earner card grants Diamond status (personal card grants Gold status) and Earner+ grants platinum status. Having the business card was useful for people matching between the two programs to get a free cruise. In addition the amount of points you can transfer between the two programs has been halved to 30,000 points (from 60,000 points).

Just out of curiosity- I’m at 12 nights with Wyndham and am thinking about going for Platinum (3 more nights) for the sole purpose of matching to Caesars. Is this worth it at all?
they are also reducing the number you can transfer to caesars
Very disappointing but I knew it was too good to last. Sucks for those of us that just got the card recently, the waived resort fees alone have saved me $500 since I got the card this summer. I would pay $300 AF for the Caesars match.
goto Stations casino for rewards credit card (does a hp on credit) at palace station in Vegas. then you can status match diamond back at Caesars.
I just googled and it says caesars does not accept station casino for diamond, can you elaborate on which card as this sounds like a great deal
We took advantage of the Atlantis promo in 2020 (four nights), 2022 (four nights) and 2023 (five nights). Resort fees were $263.76, $272.96 and $374.50. Airline cost from upstate New York using points were $237.30, $230.70 and $246.76. Had to pay for food but there are some low priced options around. Same with drinks. All in all a great deal seeing that others were paying a lot of money for honeymoons or a once in a lifetime vacation. Still, we didn’t go last year or this year. In case you were interested. I will keep the Wyndham card for the 8x on gas for my wife but I have a Tesla.
The Atlantis deal was amazing. Especially when you could max out the $150 gambling credit in off season we used to get.
The best deal I ever did was 5 nights paying only resort fee, $150 dining credit and non stop roundtrip frontier flight for $250. I was doing a status match and had free exit row seats and luggage. Great memories and vacations.
I am like 3500 tier credit away from 15000 tier credit for Diamond… What is the cheapest strategy to earn 3500 tier credit?
They haven’t been running many multiplier promotions since September. Once football season dies down, they’ll run many 3x, 5x or even 10x multipliers on their sportsbook app.
(i)cheapest way to: (don’t chase the tier). cost zero.
(if you do 1000 tier in a day u get 1000 tier bonus = 2000 total). repeat for total of 2 days. get your 4000>3500 needed.or reference, for example, your expected loss using jacks or better with 96 table(or ducks) at 99.54% payout would be about…with perfect play and strategy…$80-ish to $147ish expected loss ( and most likely worst case) per day to get 1k tier /day. be sure to check the locations ‘day’ starting /ending times as it varies by property.
Worst case is probably about 70% return on your coin in. Wizard of odds probably has something to say on it. The game is relatively swingy. The royal and straight flushes make up about 4% of that 99.54% so you’re at 95.54%. Add some mistakes in there and you’re not much better off than a slot machine since you need twice the coin in.
Just be careful!
Really tired of Caesars. Shenanigans at Caesars Republic Scottsdale where they resisted waived valet parking and resort fee (they call the $50 daily fee an “amenity” fee maybe to avoid it being waived, and the hotel is not at all a resort). Now they say they are joining Hilton but keeping the name. These companies are just trying to rip us off to get back money lost to Covid.
We can thank the fine folks over at FM for ruining another one.
What is FM?
Frequent miler, a blog
Oh come on. There were about 47 different YouTube channels that talked about it too.
Don’t know about YouTube but they probably piggybacked off FM.
Never seen the youtubers. MilesTalk has blogged about this for years and I think was the first – but it seemed to have got a lot more popular in the past year or so and a lot more blogs (and I guess youtubers) have marketed it.
This makes it easier to cancel the card next year.
Even though the 10k annual points offsets the AF when valuing the points at 1:1, I just don’t like CET properties and their restaurants that much. Not having free valet parking anymore will sting, but that’s fine since I’m less likely to go to their properties now, even for drinks.
With 8x gas and 15k anniversary points, it is still a keeper card. The Caesar’s match and everything else that came with it were always just too good to be true.
I have been Diamond but doesn’t get me anything at Caesars anyway, and I’m never in Vegas at the right time to do other matches. Sounds like it has been useful for others though. We did take advantage of the $100 dinners for years before the tier credits though, when it was Harrah’s ownership. Best thing about the Wyndham cards is they earn so many points, 8x gas on the Business earner, and 4x on groceries and dining, with 6x gas on the regular card.
The loss of free parking and waived resort fees is bigger imo than the annual dinner. I could see this driving folks to stay off strip more often if those are going to add $50+ per night to your stays.
