Update #2 (6/6/18): Citi has sent out an email to many people today targeting them with this offer.
Update: Readers had success by first clicking through the link and then opening the app to find themselves targeted via a banner ad in the app (scroll down to find banner).
The Offer
Direct Link to offer (contains our affiliate)
- Change your Amazon 1-click default payment method to an eligible Citi credit card and get a $10 Amazon credit for a future purchase.
You’ll either see, “This credit has been applied to your Amazon account,” or “Sorry, you were not eligible for this promotion,” depending whether you are eligible for this offer.
The Fine Print
- This promotional offer is available only to customers who were served an advertisement or received an email for the 1-Click default payment and to purchases made with an eligible Citi Card.
- To redeem the credit, make eligible purchase(s) with your eligible Citi Card. An eligible Citi Card is a Citi-branded consumer or business credit card issued in the US except for the Costco Anywhere Visa Card and the Costco Anywhere Visa Business Card.
- Credit must be redeemed by 11:59 p.m. PT on July 31, 2018. Unredeemed credit will expire after that time.
- The credit may be redeemed on the purchase of physical products sold and shipped by Amazon.com or Amazon Digital Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon.com” or “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the product detail page), and excludes certain content and products, including but not limited to Alexa, Fire, and Kindle products/devices, Gift Cards, Kindle eBooks, instant videos, MP3s, and all other digital content and downloads.
- Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities do not qualify for this offer, even if “fulfilled by Amazon.com” or “Prime Eligible”.
- Digital content and services may only be available to customers located in the U.S. and are subject to the terms and conditions of Amazon Digital Services LLC.
- The credit will be allocated proportionally among all eligible items in your order. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to the full value of discounted and free promotional items. Items must be purchased in a single order and shipped at the same speed to a single address.
- This promotional offer is valid for a limited time only or while supplies last.
- Offer limited to one per customer and account.
Our Verdict
We’ve seen lots of Amazon 1-click offers in the past, you can check and update your Amazon 1-click setting details here. Let us know if you were targeted for this and if you notice any other 1-click offers.
I imagine it won’t show for someone who already has 1-click set up, can try disabling it and then clicking the promo link. There are also occasionally other tricks to get the system to give you the offer such as refreshing the page or using the app, let us know if you notice anything like that.
Hat tip to reader John
The link initially showed not eligible for me, but when I disabled 1 click on all my devices on my laptop, then force-closed the amazon app on my phone then relaunched, then clicked on the ad again, it worked.
Worked for me, clicking on the links through this post showed I wasn’t eligible. Later while browsing through Amazon I was shown the same ad, this time I was eligible. Sweet, thanks Doc!
I received this email today and followed the instructions to change my 1-click card to my Citicard. I don’t see the $10 in my account. Do I have to actually purchase something first before it appears?
Try to buy something shipped & sold by Amazon directly and you’ll see $10 come off on the checkout page as long as the Citi card is selected for payment — if you select another card for payment then the $10 won’t show until you change it to Citi
Do I have to buy something via 1-click like promotion or will even a regular purchase work? Thanks Jatan!
Regular purchase is fine — just add something to cart and go to checkout to check for credit (no need to buy it)
Worked for me, I did get the email too.
I’ve tried these in the past when I wasn’t targeted and they have never worked. For this one, I was targeted (saw it on June 2) and it worked.
Is the best strategy: 1. inputting a Citi card but not making it the default payment, or 2. Not having a Citi card payment method at all on there?

Oh yes I am eligible. I was browsing on Amazon and in the right frame there was an ad for the One-Click offer, so I clicked on it, was eligible, and received the $10 promo. Thank you so much Doctor of Credit!
I did the same and saw the confirmation. But I don’t see the credit in my account.
I was served the ad, but get an error message when I try to set my AA Plat when prompted: “Please choose a card associated with the promotion”.
Fine print only excludes the Citi Costco cards, so I’m not sure if AA Plat is not eligible as well.
No, I got the same message, but continued to choose the associated billing address for the card. Mine was also an AA plat. It went thru and gave me the credit.
AA plat didn’t work for me but prestige did.
Three links that should work for the next 10 minutes or so until used:

Typically these links are targeted, and you have to have been served an ad with a custom-generated URL first before the offer link will work. The link here didn’t work for me, but it showed up again when I went to another Amazon page and worked fine there.
Did not receive the promo with the Sears Citi Mastercard which I have saved on my Amazon account.
