- Add an Additional Cardmember to your Blue Cash Everyday card and receive a $25 statement credit after your additional card members spend $250 or more within 3 months.
The Fine Print
- To earn the $25 statement credit, you must add a new Additional Card through this email and your Additional Card Member(s) must make $250 in purchases on their Additional Card(s) within 3 months, starting from the date this new Additional Card is added to your Account. Purchases made by all of your Additional Card Members on your Account, including any Additional Card Members that you had before adding a new Additional Card to earn this bonus, will count toward the $250 spend requirement. Your purchases as the Basic Card Member will not count toward the $250 spend requirement. The $25 statement credit will be credited to your account 6-8 weeks after you earn the bonus. You are limited to earning one bonus through this email.
Our Verdict
We’ve seen similar deals on other American Express cards, for example:
- Amex PRG: 5,000 Bonus MR Points for Adding Authorized User
- [Targeted] Get 2500 Miles on Amex Delta Platinum with Adding Authorized User Card
- [Targeted] Get 2500 Miles on Amex Delta Gold with Adding Authorized User Card
- [YMMV] 2,500 SPG Points For Adding An Authorized User For American Express Cardholders
- [YMMV] 10,000/5,000 Points For Adding An Authorized User To AmEx Hilton Cards
As always there are three things to keep in mind when considering these deals:
- No fee to add an additional cardholder
- These authorized user accounts do count towards the Chase 5/24 rule
- SSN is required (not required if you add AU by chat, at least instantly).
If anyone has seen the miles post to their account, how long did it take after you completed the required spend?
If I am added as an AU, will this prevent me from earning a sign up bonus for this card in the future? (I do not currently have this card nor have I ever earned the bonus for this card)
No, being an AU doesn’t prevent you from getting the bonus in the future.
Is getting yourself added as an AU (and thus having another account added on your credit report) only bad for the Chase 5/24 rule or will other banks (ie BAC, Citi, etc.) use that against you when applying for more credit?
Can you only add AU for the number mentioned in the email or more than one cards and get $25 for each? Also would existing AU card spend qualify
?
As someone else said on Reddit or here… You can simply add yourself as an authorized user using your own name and your own Social Security number. It makes no sense, but it does indeed let you.
Yep I’ve done before and did it again with this promotion. It’s nice just to have extra to get those Amex offers.
Will this show as a new account on the credit report?
Yes, I’ve done
How many times have you added yourself as an AU total among all of your cards? Has Amex ever inquired about it?
I heard it was 4 per card? But I’ve only added myself twice on my Amex Blue. I also have Amex Serve on the side and another different Amex card.
Do you mean it makes no sense to do it or it makes no sense that Amex allows this?
I used to jump at these offers, but since it goes on credit report it really is $25 for opening a credit card.
I have to ask… now that you’ve acknowledged “not required if you add AU by chat, at least instantly,” can you elaborate on your thoughts on what you mean by ‘at least instantly’ and also how this may affect the 2nd consideration (re:5/24)? What if I were to chat Amex and ask to add “William Charles” as an AU (surely I jest).
When you add AU via chat no SSN is required, but they’ll continue to ask for it later.
It still requires to log into your account:

Basically, it’s a 10% off $250. Hardly worth it IMO.
Thanks, Andrey, linked worked for me. I’ll add to the post.
