Update: Lots of successful reports now in the comments, this is probably a public offer for anyone. One reader suggests that you first have to link your Prime account to the business account to get a free year of Prime Duo before you can get the $150 discount. Others have had success without that step.

Our Verdict
Very nice discount if you can get it to work. Note, if you add Amazon Business on a Prime account, you lose Prime on that account and get a prorated refund. So you’ll want to do this on a separate Amazon login than your standard.

This promo is available again up to $60 with code 50PD23. I got the credit after 48 hours of signing up. Apple products are now excluded alongside Bose.
Got targeted several times for having a business card as a payment method in my account. Think I just used to top up. Could be a method of soliciting future offers that’s less risky than going through the public link.
Haven’t seen anyone talk about this, but when clicking through the different sections in the targeted emails, you get different links. Clicking through “Create a free account” gets me to a link that seems to indicate in the url that it was targeted based on the business card, but clicking on the “SMB50” banner at the bottom gets a url that mentions the targeting and “smbpromo.” I clicked through the “create a free account” button and nothing attached for me, but I also registered after 9/30.
I received another code for 40% off $200 via email but code doesn’t work and customer service is absolutely worthless. They just cut and paste useless responses.
Welcome to the latest iteration of Amazon customer service. They cut and paste and then disconnect. Or they send you to phone support where the staff are also trained to be useless. This is the way to lose customers forever. Guess they burned through too many support people.
ease to use in your case. just buy items for $200 (check if you can buy items only fulfilled by amazon in promo) and when you got them ask representatives to apply promo. Give them exact time when you received with promo email from amazon. They can double check it. If representative is stupid just close chat and open new one.
Can you share the code if it is not the unique code?
well booty, SBM50 was working, but now I get “The promotional code you entered is not valid.” they said it didn’t expire until 10/30! account less than 30 days old too
I just made another account recently and the code worked today for me.
When did you register the account?
If it doesn’t work in a few days, I’ll try chatting to customer service. Promo page clearly shows end date, so it should be resolvable.
oddly the promo code started working again a few days ago, and then today its dead again
Did you get anywhere with customer service? I’m having trouble getting it to work as well.
I got lucky and got a rep to acknowledge that the promo was still active when I created my account, so they gave me the discount. In reality, when I read the fine print, new accounts had to be registered by the end of September, which mine wasn’t, so I technically wasn’t supposed to get it.
Having issues too with no help from customer service. Did you get them to apply this somehow?
yes via chat. had to reopen chat like 10 times to skip unhelpful representatives before got representative who applied $150 credits to original payment method. but i did it before promo ended
I’m getting the same thing today. I chatted with Amazon and they said to place an order and once delivered, come back to chat and we’ll refund you $150.. I asked them to send an email with a record of that promise.
I got the same reply, but this time they request sold and shipped by amazon. when SBM50 was working, it applied to non amazon sold items.
Phil Molly I’m sure this would vary based on the CSR, but were either of you able to get that credit from them? (And did you get anything sketchy, like gift cards etc?)
see my comment above
Oh great, thank you. I’ll keep trying
some how I got “The promotional code you entered is not valid.” (it was valid yesterday but I haven’t placed the order) even it’s not 30 days yet…any idea? thanks!
An item I want to buy is $100 cheaper from Amazon UK but that seller won’t ship to business account addresses in the USA. Does anyone know of a way around this limitation?
try to select another seller for this item if such option is available
Any idea where to get new phone numbers to register addition business profiles? I tried textnow but all numbers there are already associated with someone amazon accounts.
Interestingly, I got the 50% up to $150, and also “Get 35% off your first business order. Discount by Amazon” up to $100. The 2nd one kicked in after I exhausted the first.
On what Amazon page does the second promo for 35% show up? Nice DP thanks
It showed up on all of the products page underneath the pricing of the item with a promotion. I don’t have access to it anymore since I used it all up. But I think I got it when I made my 2nd biz account then applied the 50% off coupon, which it used it first. I think I saw a coupon code for it when reading the terms, but I don’t remember.

Anyone had any success with this recently? I created a new legit business account for our new LLC on 9/15 and linked it to primary household Prime account. $0 Prime Duo offer initially did not show – approx. two days later it did. Signed up no problem. After 72 hours, SBM50 code still won’t apply to anything in cart. Am now going on 4 days since signup and no love. Any tricks to get this to work, like there are with the points offers of unlinking and relinking? Lol
Jon, it just worked for me 9/19. Created the account 9/13. This was my first purchase. I bought toner. Still was taxed at full amount. But full $150 applied. Must be ship/delivery by Amazon FYI. Some sellers may not qualify because they do their own fulfillment/shipping method.
For two businesses with two different business credit cards, can I make two different accounts with the same physical address and phone?
I have two biz accounts with same address used made for this and both worked.
@bob no, you need two phone numbers.
