Our Verdict
Says you need to be invited, but I can’t tell how you know if you’re eligible or not. I also think the $5 credit might just be tokens for this new service. Seems like this is microtransactions for books, I hate it.
I’ve been writing for Amazon kindle vella for a few months in February they paid me $175 then in May they paid me $1139.79 and nobody has read any of my stories yet.
The bonus system that they use is about $1 per hundred words. Sometimes more.
I just thought it’s worth noting but your bonus check could be different than mine. But they direct deposit the money to you and it’s usable anywhere.
Wow, are you just writing nonsense?
Not sure if this is still working, but it worked for me last week. Got and redeemed the $5 credit successfully
Thanks! I didn’t receive an invite for this promotion, and I also just canceled my Amazon Prime membership earlier this month, so I didn’t expect to receive the credit, but I can confirm that I received the $5 credit, and it’s good through 2/28 similar to other posters.
I’m super serial.
Wow, I actually got the credit. Picked a story, scrolled down to the end of each chapter to the next chapter until it asked for tokens. Claimed my free 200 tokens and used it to buy the next chapter. Redeemed another chapter or two and then just waited. Everything took only a minute. A few days later, an email was sent to me with the promotional credit code. The promotional code must be applied on checkout screen in promotional code section. I tried to apply it to redeem Amazon gift card page and kept getting invalid code.
Thanks for the tag… Do they have any books/stories about how to train a dog?
Not targeted but could see promotional page via DoC link.
Worked for me. Was quick enough that it’s worth it for everyone to just try opening the link. If something shows up, great. If not, oh well.
Got my email last night
Surprisingly I got an email with a $5 credit code that I can apply to eligible items. It did work with Gift cards. Did not receive any email beforehand just used the link above and clicked on a book and didn’t even read it but kept moving to the next chapter.
I didn’t see any ad or anything else targeting me, but I just got the credit email. It’s a discount code to use at checkout (I’m not sure why it’s not a credit like the promos usually are), good thru Feb. 28.
I can’t even tell if I’m eligilbe or not.
