Our Verdict
I can’t get this $200 offer to show, but Reddit user vaudevillevik reports seeing it. I wouldn’t be surprised if this offer becomes more widely available for tomorrow, July 1st, when the Amazon Visa card from Chase gets the bump to $200, as we reported previously.
The standard offer on the American Express Amazon Business card has been $125 and sometimes has a spend requirement (we did once see an offer for $225 some time ago). This offer is bumped to $200 and has no spend requirement making it a sweet time to sign up.
The Visa card has the advantage over the Amex version since the 5% is unlimited on the Visa versus $120,000 cap on the Amex. I’m not sure if the Amex version gets the increased cashback rates of up to 25% on select products that the Visa version gets. I suppose some people like the Amex since it’s a business card and doesn’t add to your 5/24, or simply if they use it for a business. Let us know if there are any other reasons you prefer one over the other.
I got it to show after looking for something that was going to be shipped to an address that I have listed as a “business address.” I also have an AmEx Biz Gold listed as my default payment as I’m trying to meet the MSR. I’m guessing that’s the more pertinent aspect.
How do u “looking for something”? Just search for it or place an order (and cancel later)?
Got “Earn a $100 statement credit after you make $3,000 in purchases on your Card in your first 3 months.” from the link rn, even worse than standard $125 offer.
Just logged into my personal Amazon and at the top of the ‘Your payments’ account page is an offer for a $200 Amazon gift card upon approval of Amazon Business Prime Amex card with no spend requirement.
Do you think / know if this will trigger a 1099 form?
I’ve never heard of a 1099 on similar bonuses, but it’s a good question – why not – given the lack of spend requirement.
I am still seeing $125 gift card. Even with incognito. Strange.
Can I apply for the amazon personal and business cards at the same time?
Yes, I applied for the personal and business cards on the same day and got approved for both. Received the $200 GC instantly for each as well.
It shows up now with an end date of Jul 13. Not until 2 pm. Unfortunately, instantly declined in my case because of a return payment 29 days ago.
I saw the $125 giftcard and applied instantly approved. Today morning extra $125 has been added to my amazon balance. An this is mu 2nd time getting the bonus! Last time when It was first launched I got that card. This time I was logged into a different amazon account.
Approved instantly and $200 Amazon GC showed up in Amazon account a few minutes later. Also signed up for the Amazon Business account and got the $50 GC in the Business account instantly.
Do you expect to receive a 1099 form?
Showing for me. Stupid question, I know, but is there any downside? No hard pull if you already have Amex biz cards, no? And doesn’t count toward 5/24 of course. Only Amex limit.
Correct, the only downside is that it occupies a slot for the AmEx 5 credit card limit.
showed as 200 for me with normal prime subscription, got approved, waiting on the gift card.
How long did it take everyone to get their gift card once you were approved for the card?
A few minutes
